5 Facts About The Fog Warriors & Seheron From Faces of Thedas
I went and added most of this to the Dragon Age Wikia, but I’m gonna make a post here as well in bullet point form for those who prefer that, and also because holy shit I love the Fog Warriors so much! BioWare let us go to Seheron please I want to meet them and help free their nation!
The native people of Seheron have been taught that prior to the Tevinter occupation, their island was a nation with great pride. But because of the constant war between Tevinter and the Qunari, most of their history has been lost to them, and there is little semblance to what Seheron was before their occupation.
All the infrastructure on Seheron has been built and rebuilt over and over in the image of whichever occupier has held ground at any given time, and there is little of the original Seheron architecture still left. So now the island has a strange combination of Tevinter and Qunari buildings.
The Fog Warriors did not choose their name, but were instead given that title by the Tevinters, because while Seheron is a naturally foggy place, each band of Fog Warriors has a Fog Dancer who is able to control this fog, and use it as protective cover. How they do this is a fiercely guarded secret that no outsiders know. These Fog Dancers are comparative to bards, and also play the role of keeping the stories of their people alive.
The Fog Warriors are BAMFs. They are able to swiftly get in and out before their targets even know what hit them, with their guerrilla tactics and again, special use of fog, which they blend into by painting their skin white and wearing white clothing/armour.
They organize themselves into cells in order to prevent jeopardizing their comrades should one cell be subjected to Ben-Hassrath interrogation and “re-education.” Each cell has limited knowledge of and involvement with the others.
