Well, we're back for a second edition! It will take place from the 1st to the 7th of June!

Full-length recording of a 20-year anniversary special aired on French television in 1998, in the presence of Luc Plamondon and Lewis Furey, with the Mogador 98 cast on set plus many stars singing more or less related songs (the original cast of Notre Dame de Paris, a bunch of previous Starmania cast members from a bunch of versions, also Celine Dion is there??)

Get it while it's available, it feels like the kind of video that might not last so long!

At last! So happy to find the whole emission. This should come with a story from Wenta that she shared recently with the video of “Stone”. The legacy cast of 88 were NOT invited as usual (that explains why there is NDDP as always). But she confronted Luc Plamondon backstage and he quickly arranged that they all joined the show. ✊🏻

"Le Blues du businessman" is THE song of Starmania for me, it embodies the unexplored gray areas of Zero Janvier but especially the extent of Starmania on all of Monopolis, even a politician who is already a kind of "star" in this world is dissatisfied with his lifestyle and secretly wishes that the public perceives him as the opposite of the ferocious politician he has become

Favourite scene :

Unfortunately not used enough in all versions of the show " le rêve de stella spotlight " interior monologue or untouchable trio in the 1988 version ? For me it's perfection

I discovered Starmania with the 1988 album and cast, but it's clearly the 2023 masterpiece that stole my heart

If you know several versions, do you have a fave or most hated change ? :

The disappearance and successive reappearance of Gourou Marabout and l'Extraterrestre who deserves to appear more often, however I am rather in favor of the suppression of " Sex shops , cinéma porno " which is perhaps a little too experimental for me

I remove " Besoin d'amour " and " Nos planètes se séparent "

But I add " Le rêve de Stella ( trio version) " and " L'air de l'extraterrestre " (the 1980 Quebec version)

I've always been frustrated by the lack of symbolism in her death ...

First Starmania you encountered and what you thought :

As a child, I only knew the cult songs played on the radio, without knowing that they came from a show

Then in 2017, I came across the 1988 album and I immediately fell in love with this version, It was when I arrived on Tumblr a year ago that I really took the time to explore all the existing versions ( especially the Quebec versions, which I was totally unaware of )

Starmania you watched / listened to the most recently? (Any medium/platform) :

The 1979 live album combined with the 1988 studio album

( I took a huge amount of time to sort everything out properly on my Deezer / Spotify playlist of French Musicals )

If you were in the show, which character would you want to play :

I am clearly Marie Jeanne ( the other female characters are too difficult for me to sing or play anyway )

If somebody told you that they'd seen the original and remembered it perfectly, what would you want to know :

( he would probably be a big mythomaniac but just in case )

" When and above all WHY Zero and Sadia crown the Gourou ? "

If you could time-travel, which version would you like to see live :

Even if it's not my favorite, the original from 1979 just for Daniel Balavoine

Would Zéro Janvier or Gourou Marabout make the better leader :

Is Sadia a double-agent from the start or initially sincere :

For me she is an impulsive teenager in rebellion, she co-created les étoiles noirs to make herself feel like she belongs to something big and controversial, maybe she had already set her romantic / sexual sights on Johnny ? I take her betrayal of her own gang as a stupid and angry response to Johnny's rejection, again she's a teenager ! she does shit in a world that encourages her to use violence to get what she wants

What's your headcanon about Sadia's gender :

Since the first version Sadia should have been played by a man !!!
