đŹ 5  đ 9  â€ïž 9 · Starmania Ask Meme, anyone? · Based on a long tradition, let's bring back the ask meme!
(If you're unfamiliar: anyone who
"Le Blues du businessman" is THE Starmania song for me, it embodies the unexplored gray areas of Zero Janvier but especially the extent of Starmania on all of Monopolis, even a politician who is already a kind of "star" in this world is dissatisfied with his lifestyle and secretly wishes that the public perceives him as the opposite of the ferocious politician he has become
The final trio between Zero, Stella and Johnny in the 1988 version , whether it be the staging, the curtain /minimalist sets or simply the performers, I find no flaws in this scene, except that it could have been used too often in other versions ( which too often conclude with Stella's solo and then her potential suicide )
I grew up with the 1988 storyline but the original 1979 version developed the universe and characters SO much better, with original, non-sung theatrical scenes that breathed a tremendous amount of life and realism into the city of Monopolis ...
Johnny Rockfort of course !! Although each of the singers who plays the role offers a completely different perspective on the character, he is the character towards whom I feel the most compassion throughout the entire show
Dream cast across all versions :
Norman Groulx for Johnny Rockfort
Despite all the existing versions, none of the singers has ever truly convinced me, but I think Cecilia Cara could have been a fantastic Cristal !!
Réjane Perry for Marie-Jeanne
Richard Groulx for Zéro Janvier
Sabrina Lory for Stella Spotlight
Roddy Julienne for Gourou Marabout
Francis Martin for l'Extraterrestre
Favorite Marie-Jeanne / Ziggy duo :
Favourite costume ( any version ) :
" Besoin d'amour " I find this song boring, too long, and pointless
Which version is your fave :
I discovered Starmania with the 1988 album and cast, but it's clearly the 2023 masterpiece that stole my heart
If you know several versions, do you have a fave or most hated change ? :
The disappearance and successive reappearance of Gourou Marabout and l'Extraterrestre who deserves to appear more often !!
However I am rather in favor of the suppression of " Sex shops cinéma porno " this song has a chaotic, terribly unsettling, even stressful side that has always made me very uncomfortable
Fave Starmania cover by a non-Starmania artist :
If you were remaking the show, which songs would you include/exclude :
I remove " Nos planÚtes se séparent " without regret
Which Cristal death is your fave across all versions :
I've always been frustrated by the lack of symbolism in her death so I'm not choosing any of them
Have you seen the show live :
First Starmania you encountered and what you thought :
As a child, I only knew the cult songs played on the radio, without knowing that they came from a show
Then in 2017, I came across the 1988 album and I immediately fell in love with this version, It was when I arrived on Tumblr a year ago that I really took the time to explore all the existing versions
( Especially the Quebec versions, which I was totally unaware of )
Starmania you watched / listened to the most recently? (Any medium/platform) :
The 1979 live album combined with the 1988 studio album
( I took a huge amount of time to sort everything out properly on my Deezer / Spotify playlist of French Musicals ^^ )
If you were in the show, which character would you want to play :
I am clearly Marie Jeanne ( the other female characters are too difficult for me to sing or play anyway )
If somebody told you that they'd seen the original and remembered it perfectly, what would you want to know :
( he would probably be a big mythomaniac but just in case )
" When and above all WHY Zero and Sadia crown the Gourou ? "
If you could time-travel, which version would you like to see live :
Even if it's not my favorite, the original from 1979 just for Daniel Balavoine
Would Zéro Janvier or Gourou Marabout make the better leader :
Monopolis would become an extremist dictatorship with these two ... so none if possible ?
Should Johnny have picked Cristal or Sadia :
Johnny and Marie Jeanne are soulmates đ
What would you order at the Underground Café :
" Un bon verre d'eau " đ
Does Marie-Jeanne die at the end :
I hope not, she deserves to plant her tomatoes far from underground
Is Stella and Zéro's relationship real or PR :
Zero wants a trophy wife and Stella wants to be immortalized , it's a toxic relationship
Is Sadia a double-agent from the start or initially sincere :
For me she is an impulsive teenager in rebellion, she co-created les étoiles noirs to make herself feel like she belongs to something big and controversial, maybe she had already set her romantic / sexual sights on Johnny ? I take her betrayal of her own gang as a stupid and angry response to Johnny's rejection, again she's a teenager ! she does shit in a world that encourages her to use violence to get what she wants
What's your headcanon about Sadia's gender :
Since the first version Sadia should have been played by a Drag !!!
