Ramblings & Realizations

Do you ever feel like you are on the verge of discovering what you were meant to do. The one thing you were brought into this world to accomplish. Finally being able to figure out what the hell all of IT means. I feel like that. Pretty much all of the time. I don’t know that it’s so much one thing for me though. There are too many experiences out there waiting for me to find and I’m discovering them every single day. I’m not meant to be just one person, or do one thing. It’s a frightening thing to realize that though. Let me tell you. I’m sure it’s similar to anyone else’s emotional state when they have the great epiphany. But I think maybe mine has had a different effect on me that most people. This has been a super slow process, simply because I’ve been afraid. The life I’m meant to live isn’t tradition. Each step I’ve taken in life has been a small step towards figuring out that life is meant to be so much more than I’ve ever realized. The freedom I feel now is incredible and awe inspiring. I’ve realized now that my destiny so to speak is to just be. That’s right, just be. Be me every single day. Embrace that a life spent traveling down just ONE road is not that life I’m meant to have. I’m going to spend my life living. No agenda, no rules, no obligation to any one thing other than myself. Seeing the world without a time frame. Meeting strangers on a park bench, or on a bus. Learning about those people, allowing myself to be open to their influence. Having an open heart to the struggles and accomplishments of others. I’m meant to listen to their stories. To take what I’ve learned from them and give other people the chance to learn from them as well. We all have amazing stories inside of us. We simply need to share them. My life is not meant to be lived in one place, my life is meant to wander. I want to live where the city never sleeps and I want to live where I can fall asleep to the song the crickets play. To walk the beaches on every coast. To see if the wind feels different on your face when your standing on a mountain compared to an open field. Listen to the roar of a waterfall and the soothing sound of a stream. Share lunch with the homeless man on the corner. Talk politics with an activist in the coffee shop. Buy vegetables from the local farmer and his wife. Watch the way their eyes light up when they speak about their first loves. To see the shame wash over their features as they confess the wrongs they’ve done. I want to part ways with these people with a hug and a hope that they’ve maybe learned from me an ounce of what I learned from them. This is the life I was meant to lead. And the best part, I’m not longer scared to live it.
