Oh my fucking god. YES ALEX. YES! I love Alex Shchukin, I don’t always agree with what he says but damn I love that he’s willing to tell the truth as he sees it and put it out there. KT Coates is a bully. Always has been, always will be. She is vile. She is mean. And this post just opens up another part of this story to the rest of the pole world.

It was confirmed to me yesterday from 3 sources that she used to be a stripper, though the stories she has told people have been completely different. One of them she says she worked as a burlesque dancer in a Soho bar and first learnt to pole dance there, another that a friend asked her to come to Japan and learn to pole dance whilst stripping on the job in a Japanese Hostess bar. But either way she has spent plenty of time slagging off stripper style pole, strippers and basically anything that isn’t her bland vision for pole sports.

She publicly slagged off a larger pole dancer, Emma Haslam who was on Britain’s Got Talent, for being a bad role model and representative of our industry. She rudely slagged off Felix Cane, a major pioneer of our industry.

She has no place here.

It has literally kicked off with other pole dancers such as Oona Kivela and Bendy Kate talking out against her. Oona just posted that she cannot support IPSF this year. Literally so glad this is finally all coming out.

Remember when I was all excited about finally being able to climb the pole?

I WAS DOING IT WRONG. Why did nobody tell me you’re supposed to push up with your legs, and use your arms for support, not the other way around? ._.

But on the plus side, my arm strength is through the damn roof, hey~

I’ve been practicing climbing though. Last week, I tried the proper way, by using my feet/legs to push my body up, and I just flat out couldn’t. My legs would slide down, and I’d end up pulling myself up using my arms. I didn’t get to practice again until today, but I did it!

I still have trouble pressing my knee in while simultaneously pressing my foot against the pole, but I finally figured out that the knees do most of the work, and the feet stabilize me. At least, in my case that’s how it works best.

I can’t squeeze the pole with my knees tight enough that I won’t slide down, but unlike last week where I just slid without any ado, I slide down veeeery slowly (and ow, that shit burns like HELL omfg) and my arms aren’t doing too much work.

If I practice every other day, hopefully, I’ll be able to do a proper climb and hold within the next week or two. We’ll see.

have you tried using your forearm on the pole while climbing? use the arm that has the lower grip on your hand (so which ever hand gripping is on bottom, you'll want to push off with your forearm). i noticed climbing isn't about just arm strength or leg strength, but BOTH.

About time I thought about some 2015 pole goals

I don’t know if my splits are getting any better… But this is my before. This year I will remember to stretch!

Want to be able to do a handstand without a wall…

Learn some new stuff… Still got my nemesis moves but looking forward to building on the stuff I’ve managed to achieve this year!

they definitely are getting better! a trick too if you want your splits a bit quicker, is to hold them for a longer period of time. so say you're holding your splits for 30 seconds, aim for 60.

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been updating a lot. I moved to another city and it's been a while since I've gotten to an actual class. I've been doing open pole for the past four months and haven't really done anything new. A couple nights ago I started to get back into the routine of things. I usually took about two or three classes every second or third night, but now I'm pretty sore and I couldn't really walk the day after lol. For the rest of the week I'm just going to be recovering. But here is a python that I taught myself on Tuesday. Leg grips like in the python and genie scare the absolute shit out of me because i always feel like I don't have enough! I don't even have enough thigh to do a proper layback with straight legs and no matter how hard I squeeze I always seem to land on my hands lol! 

P.S. My glasses make me feel like cat woman.

I managed to do this the other day (it's so scary not having an elbow grip) but I couldn't hold it for very long. This time I counted until 5 mississipi's and then dropped down :) Maybe next time I'll see how long I can go!

One of the beautiful titanics I got today! We learned this on Monday but I didn’t get it until Saturday. A trick I learned from another student was to use your opposite foot to grab the pole. A lot less squeezing and twirling around lol.
