ABOUT MILLIE MAY
On March 29th, Millie Sadie May was brought into the world to parents, Barrett and Georgia May. Nobody in Prattville, Alabama thought that high school sweethearts would stay together long enough to have two kids together but they did. They had their eldest son when they were seniors in high school.Â
As a baby Millie May was entered in beauty pageants, because Georgia always wanted to do them when she was a child. Millie May surprisingly did very well and holds a couple of titles. Millie May always thought with her being well known within the pageant community it would make her mother proud, but could tell she was very distant. As a child she was able to catch onto the growing tensions in the home. It was always a constant fight between her parents. Every night the young girl found herself crawling into her brothers bed to seek comfort. Millie May’s brother always knew what to say to keep her calm.Â
Georgia would be out late, and her father would be very upset as the love of his life was destroying their marriage. One day Millie May overheard an argument between her parents. She knew when the screaming started she should go into her room and play with her toys, but this time she didn’t. Hearing Georgia say having two kids ruin her youth and needed to leave, crushed her spirit. She sprinted to her brothers room and he promised to never leave her. When she woke up the next morning her mother was gone. Barrett was simply distraught, his wife was gone. Millie May continued to do pageants hoping that one day her mother would return and they’d be a family once again.Â
Millie May and her brother, convinced their father to start dating again and he did. Eventually he remarried and Millie May loves her stepmom. She even calls her mom.Â
Despite having a lot of family drama, Millie May always maintained good grades. When she was fifteen and realized Georgia was never coming back she quit doing pageants. She decided to get a career doing princess parties. Millie May was always casted as Ariel or Belle.Â
Millie May made the hard decision to leave the only town she knew and come to Aurora Bay for college. Little did she know that she wouldn’t be returning back to Pratville, Alabama. She made a life in Aurora Bay that she couldn’t walk away from. Her friends are the once who introduced her to Kangmin. He’s both her best and worst decision of her life. Millie May is so grateful they have a child together as she always wanted to be a mother. He’s the worst decision because they are just not fit for each other. Millie May wanted Khai to grow up in a home with both of his parents, but the arguing and jealousy would not be an ideal environment for him to grow up in.Â
HEADCANONS
Millie May is a full name girlie pop
Has a very thick southern accent
When she told her parents she was pregnant they moved from Alabama to Aurora Bay
Small town was very scandalized when they found out Millie May was pregnant. Millie May didn't care though
"Forever grateful for the weekend, as always." Addison replied in a greeting as they found each other in the winery. She was interested in the new spring flavors she saw for the flyer of the flower festival. "What about you? Have the kids demolished their side of the library yet? I think last time I was there one of them was being Godzilla to the blocks." @missmilliemay
Millie May couldn't agree more. She always looked forward to a nice long weekend. "I know, I'm so happy to be out and about." Millie May grinned. "Of course the kids have. I'm always finding myself having to ask them to clean up after themselves or to not run. And now that the festival is here..." Millie May paused, still having a grin on her face. "It's all chaos with them."
"You have such a cutie, what's his name?" Sterling smiled at the woman and her son. Sterling was holding her own son in her arms while Sunny was playing with some of the other kids nearby.
"Awe thank you." Millie May replied, with a wide grin. "This is Khai." Her son squirmed in her arms, growing antsy. "And who is this cutie pie?" She asked setting Khai on the ground.
Vera: I have a dilemma
Vera: I want to go do a wine tasting
Vera: but I feel like if I go alone, that'd be one of the most pathetic things I've ever done.
Vera: Will you come with me so I don't drink alone?
Vera: In exchange, you can also have alcohol and my dazzling personality.
Shiloh: Have you ever considered girls?
Shiloh: Because if I wasn't gay already that would be enough to turn me.
Shiloh: At least he called you pretty?
Shiloh: Or inferred it.
@missmilliemay
Millie May: I never have. Maybe I need to take that into consideration
Millie May: Wanna help me swipe on some women.
Millie May: Who knows? I think it was supposed to be a compliment.
Melody: You paid for this man AND ordered him an Uber? He should have walked home!
Melody: As always, men are unsurprisingly disappointing.
Melody: You're a braver woman than I am to go back out there after that, but yes. Definitely onto the next.
( @missmilliemay )
Millie May: Don't give me that look.
Millie May: He should have. I was WAYYYYY to kind to him.
Millie May: It's slim pickins out here.
Millie May: I mean what else is there to do? I'm just a girl who wants to find love lol.
Henry was a lot less bubbly than his coworker and he didn't mind. It was kind of nice hearing someone so positive all the time. He often felt drained after talking to patrons of the library that he hid himself in the back rooms. "Thanks. I've had to deal with so many people on the phone. I wanna be surrounded by broken books." He grinned. "I mean you can keep me company if you want. Doesn't seem like there are many people and we can put the bell out."
Millie May really liked Henry's idea. She had spent majority of her shift sitting at the desk, a change of scenery would be nice for her. "I can totally take a break from sitting her." Millie May told Henry. "I can also tell you about the drama going on here." The gossip she had was quite juicy. Plus, she needed someone to spill it to who would understand. It just hit different when she shared it with Henry. She stood up from the chair and grabbed the bell, placing it on the desk. In case anyone needed assistance. "Lead the way." She told Henry.
"It actually would have been more entertaining if there had been an unsanctioned fire somewhere. Not damage of someone's home or a danger to anyone but it would have been amusing if someone had gone rouge and torched some guys Porsche or something."
Millie May: No, I really should hhave,
Millie May: I'm not, I have my moments of doubt.
Millie May: That does sound like torture. Thankfully, he did not. He just told me he's so strong he could beat anyone up. He also spoke how he'd be a great step father. I was like wtf this is our first date.
I used to think I did but I’ve been sort of behind lately “ that lately was because he missed more than five years of acquiring new books while in prison and he couldn’t do much research for his daughter there. Emma looked over at Jameson and he nodded that she could follow her. “ she might just take you up on that offer. Could be here for hours “ he teased @missmilliemay
"It's a good thing I've got a ton of time." Luckily for them the library wasn't to busy with patrons. Even if it was Millie May would make sure that Emma went home with the book she wanted. "Alright, love" Millie May gestured to the fantasy section, pulling one book out. "Percy Jackson, is really good." She handed Emma the book to see if it would catch her interest. Millie May went back to scanning the stacks. She pulled another book, it was a very chunky book. "This is Nevermoor. I know it's a bit thick. But it's very good."
Sully: that sounds worse than just bad?
Sully: are you okay though?
Sully: he really seemed like a jerk which is unfortunate cause he did seem promising at first
Sully: are you still at the restaurant? @missmilliemay
Celine: One more reason to why I could never date men lmfaoo
Celine: I'm sorry you had to go through that
Celine: What a nightmare
Celine: You're a real one for paying bc the way I would've disappeared
Celine: Nah I probably would've done the same and paid
Celine: On to the next for sure though!
Millie May: You're very lucky you don't have to deal with this shit!
Millie May: It was a nightmare.
Millie May: I wish I could have disappeared. I just didn't have the heart.
Millie May: Next time I'm calling you and we say I have an emergency lol.
Millie May: Yup!!
"This is his home, too. Of course I have clothes for him." Kangmin said, unsure why she would even say something like that. Despite only having his son every other weekend, he does make sure that when Khai comes over he has everything that he needs. Not only did he hate having to ask Millie May for things, but he also wanted his son to know and feel like this was his home, too. Even if he was too young to understand that yet. "Sometimes - if he forgets to let me know that he needs to use the potty." he said, shrugging slightly. Kangmin had been watching a lot of videos about potty training and all the parents said that accidents were bound to happen.
"Yes, buddy. Just like mommy said -" he agreed as he picked out a new, clean outfit for the toddler. "Do you wanna put a diaper on him, or just some underwear?"
Millie May wasn't trying to be rude, or make him feel less than. Nor was she trying to undermine his parenting. This was just a general question. "I know." Her tone came out sharper than what she intended. Millie May never wanted Khai to see this side of her around Kangmin. Sometimes she just couldn't help it. "I did go slightly overboard shopping recently for him." She admitted, as a sheepish grin spread across her lips. "I was going to offer you some anyways... But now I won't." She followed up. In truth, Millie May wasn't a big fan of Kangmin, but she did belief in his ability to be a good father. So she decided to no longer mention the mini shopping spree.
Millie May nodded as that was her struggle too. She was reading all the potty training books at work. She even started reading some of the potty training picture books to Khai. Nothing was sticking. Millie May knew this was bound to happen. "Yeah, I've been dealing with the same thing." A small sigh escaped her lips. "I guess we continue to remind him to go." Millie May shrugged. "I'll ask his teachers at school to take him every hour." She added, making a mental note.
It was nice to see them both find a mutual ground. If they were both on the same page maybe Khai would understand. "He can wear underwear." Millie May said.
"I have excellent timing, then." Gianna smiled. "Finishing clocking out so we can go on a cute little walk and chitchat. I feel like I only know about you through your social media." the woman said, not putting blame of course. She could only imagine how hard it must be to make time for friends when you're being working and parenting a little toddler.
"You really do." Millie stood up from the desk, "I'll go that now. I really do look forward for our cute walk." She said smiling, making her way to clock out.
In a matter of seconds she came back out with her purse slung over her shoulder. "I know, I'm sorry." Millie was very apologetic about only getting to know Gianna through social media. It was hard being a single parent and building relationships with others. She did try to carve out some time where she was able to do what she wanted. Thankfully, this evening her son was spending time at her fathers house. "So," Millie May broke the silence. "How have you been?"
"Here's hoping they go back at least eighty years," Presley sheepishly laughs as she follows Millie through the library.
"My mom is planning this huge surprise party for my dad's birthday and somehow I've been tasked with finding my dad's life events and blowing them up into huge posters to hang around -- so I'm trying to find his birth announcement."
"I believe that they do." Millie May was hopeful they do as well. The archives were not her area of expertise - she mostly dealt with reader advisory.
She eventually lead them to the archive room. "Awe thats so cute." Millie May grinned, as she flicked on the lights. "We can start looking in the year he was born."
"Oh, that would be amazing. I think that could make her whole week." Gwen tried to surprise her daughter with the little things that could spice up the week. She wished she could provide more -- do more -- for Beatrice, but that wasn't possible just yet. "I hope she enjoys it. I mean, she was Tinkerbell for Halloween so it's safe to say the movie was bound to come up on the list. I truthfully think it was the wings that sold her on it. Oh gosh, I hope now she doesn't want to wear them every day." A battle Gwen didn't know if she could win. @missmilliemay
It brought Millie May so much joy knowing she'd help Gwen's daughters week, even if it was a small gesture of picking out a fairy book. "I'm delighted to hear it." She replied her thick southern accent added warmth to her words. "I wouldn't doubt she enjoys it." She continued confidently, wanting to offer Gwen the reassurance. "Awe, how adorable. Maybe you could make a deal with her and the wings?"
