I want to make something clear: Biden bombing foreign countries isn’t wrong because he’s spending money on wars instead of giving stimulus checks to Americans. It’s wrong because bombing foreign countries is wrong.
I keep seeing American leftists center themselves into this discussion with statements like “this money could have gone to stimulus checks, Medicare for All” or whatever else. That might be true, but the issue here is that people abroad are being murdered.
This is just like when conservatives talk about, for example, the Vietnam War and say things like “so many American soldiers died”. That’s not the issues here, America was the aggressor, the war shouldn’t have happened because it was wrong, not because Americans happened to die.
This is why I was never a fan of the “we just want Medicare for All” trope and I tend to not trust leftists who take part in it. You deserve it, and I’m with you on that, but that shouldn’t be a priority while your government is blowing people up in the Middle East.
Leftists, especially Americans, have really a long way to go. They have to make anti-imperialism the main focus of their activism because this is getting ridiculous. /end ID]
