Boy this chapter... first, let's talk about everyone's reaction towards Zen.

Sweat drops everywhere... those are not happy faces, even Shirayuki didn't seem as excited to see Zen as he was to see her, and with good reason! Him being there was unexpected and it does endanger her mission quite a bit. And don't forget that Zen wasn't planning on doing this, but once he heard what happened, he got jealous and just had to intervene....

(I never see jealousy as a wrong thing to feel, is pretty human and we can’t always control feelings, but it becomes a bad thing if you let it take control of your actions...)

Then, they kept talking and she laughed! A cute moment! It seems like the tension is a little better, until Zen says this:

Zen says Shirayuki hasn’t changed, and her face... she is stunned, like she wasn't expecting to hear that.

I think that's why Shirayuki kept her eyes open when Zen kissed her, she didn’t react cause she was still thinking about what he said.

(I don't think Shirayuki keeping her eyes open should be overlooked. The only other time where she kept her eyes open is when Zen kissed her for the first time, and that was a kiss she wasn't expecting. In this scene she totally could see it coming, there's no reason for her to not close her eyes and melt into the kiss, it's been long since she last saw Zen after all! But this doesn't happen, she was pretty out of the moment.

Without mentioning that we didn't have a full panel of their kiss, probably because Sorata didn't want to reveal that Shirayuki's eyes were open and wanted Zen to be the one who mentions it/notices it.)

And the thing is... Shirayuki has changed. She has become more independent, more brave, more strong, more aware of her surroundings. She has gained more experience, more allies, more determination. Shirayuki has grown a lot, but Zen doesn't see this. They've been apart for so long that he thinks she's the same Shirayuki from two years ago... and in my opinion that's definitely not a good sign.

I could be wrong with all of this, I always try to keep my mind open and try to not be biased, but I don't know... this chapter rubbed me the wrong way... and the zenyuki reunion was definitely colder than any of their scenes and reunions before, with Zen doing all the action and Shirayuki pretty much just standing there, letting things happen.
