“we never did find the deer. I guess whatever we saw out there settled for it.”
Doodled my grumpy paladin from my first (but still current) DnD campaign, Rahkahn. He’s been through a lot, such as copping 3 crit fails from our barbarian in 2 sessions. Fun times.
It’s not going to get much better for him.
Trying some more drawing with a mouse, going for a different approach. Cleaned up a little in photoshop.
Birthday art for a buddy from Destiny 2 who somehow makes even the dumbest loadouts work.

More digital practice. Inspired by Maren Morstad’s recent work (x).
Digital practice, in memory of my poor monk from a recent 5e game.
Won’t be the last we see of him though - got plans for him in my first campaign I’ll be running soon.
No place, sometime We’ll clear our eyes And when you’re down I’ll come around (x)
hey, i think my navigation app needs an update or something.
Inspired by Kris Straub’s delightfully unsettling L O C A L 5 8 series.
Bad vibes.
Some tests, practicing getting the hang of/consistent VHS-like effects on some old photos.
Made these after effectively losing my job so they were very cathartic. Sometimes you just gotta put the bad vibes to good use.

We’re back.
Well, this blog seems to have survived my message to tumblr support, so I’ll be updating it with some more photo editing glitchy/found footage goodness from the last week(s) or so.
if you’re new here, I also periodically upload my experiments and bad memes to my twitter, in the case this blue hell decides to pull my content again.
More to come soon!
Giving some photos of my old college works the indie horror treatment. Here’s a redux of a not-so-good-boy from third year.
Inspired by @slimyswampghost, who I wholeheartedly reccomend for your daily spook fix, and @theveryworstthing ‘s amazing REM-wolf series.
FEAR NOT - Final work
The final pass of my graduation work,“Fear Not”, from the Adelaide College of the Arts Stampede graduate exhibition, 2015. Better quality photos and official artist statement to come later.
FEAR NOT - Process shots [Set #4]
First row: applying flocking and paint to the main body. This was an incredibly time-consuming and annoyingly delicate process, but gave the figure a soft, skin-like texture.
Next came adding the multitude of feathers. I had to recruit a small army of helpers to cut over 400 individual pieces, of varying sizes, and glued them to the body over two days. This was an oddly cathartic process, even though by this time I was scrambling for the deadline.
Next came adding the eyes, which were pushed in using pins stuck into the plaster during the drying process.
FEAR NOT - Process shots [Set #3]
Some pictures of the process for making the eyes. I used plaster molds from a set of ping-pong balls, which were then painted and covered with resin.
Also some progress on cleaning up the body, and modelling the face and feet in Apoxie Sculpt. Not shown - the three days of frustration and reworking the face to get it just right.
FEAR NOT - Process shots [Set #2]
Constructing and refining the wax maquette, and constructing the internal steel support. Lots of welding, cutting, measuring, and then re-cutting because I was out by mere centimeters.
Once the steel frame was complete, I began building up the body mass of the figure using carved polystyrene and a staggering amount of epoxy glue.
FEAR NOT - Process shots [Set #1]
Decided to upload some of my progress photos for my graduation work in 2015, “Fear Not”, while I sort out organizing some better quality photographs of the final piece.
This first set includes my initial studies on bird’s wings using polystyrene foam and cardboard, some face studies in clay, and my small collages I made for sorting out a plausible design/anatomy for the seraphim, based on Biblical descriptions.
