Zatanna let out a breath she hadn’t realized she’d been holding. “Thanks, Jay. Something about that place,” she murmured, shrugging when she couldn’t find the words to explain it.

Peter didn’t usually travel outside of the bounds of New York city, but he was Spider-Man! And when he heard about a villain called Black Spider, who had a similar suit to his, but black and evil who was swinging around and dropping people to their deaths. 

He become extremely motivated to put a stop to this villain himself and get him locked up for good. So that’s why he was here. Because this city was where he was last located. He doubted he would be confused for him, their color schemes were different and people had to know Spider-Man and Black Spider were different people!

Zatanna knew there were some horrific villains out there, ones who didn’t care about much of anything, but dropping people to their deaths? What a way to go. 

What struck her about this one is that villains are (usually) cunning and know when to strike--not too frequently but just enough to create a panic--and this guy didn’t seem to get the memo. Happy Harbor was her city, and this wasn’t going to fly. 

The last thing she expected to see, however, was Black Spider himself in broad daylight. She wondered for a moment if maybe she was mistaken since she only saw him out of the corner of her eye, but nothing else swung around building like that so she was pretty sure. Charming herself into her outfit, she ran across the street, following him is trail. Blue and red? It definitely wasn’t Black Spider, but maybe an accomplice? 

She couldn’t take any chances, so without thinking about it, she held out her arm in his direction above the streets and yelled, “Ezeerf!”

Zatanna shifted a bit. “Thanks.”
