VALENTINE’s DAY - バレンタイン
Yesterday was Valentine’s day, did someone get any chocolate?
In Japan on this day only girls give away choco and then, on the white day, they get it back from the boys who love them. It’s a tradition and it’s very popular to declare your feelings on this day and wait 'till the white day to recive an answer.
My family thinks that Valentine’s day it’s not only for couples, but it’s a day for all kind of love. So my parents bought me my favourite red wine and my mom cooked chicken curry. I loved my Valentine’s day !!!
What about your valentine?
Okinawan blues | Japan (by Masamune)
My next visit will be in Okinawa. I'm going to live there for six months to write down my thesis. Waaa I can't wait !!!
Day 16 - “Our new discovery”
Konbanwa Minna-san! This post is not about our day, but it’s about a place. Thanks to our friends, we found out Elua Dinner that it's the best place to eat an american hamburger in a city like Kobe. Well, I can't say more, but pics ... they speak by themselves!! Yummy
Now it’s bed time So wait for tomorrow post See ya Miyako
Day 15 - “Hiroshima and Miyajima”
Konbanwa Minna-san! This post is about my trip in Hiroshima.
We left early in the morning with the Shinkansen. It was my first time on that train and it was awesome. With Ylenia and Alex, I arrived in Hiroshima so we went to the most important places where there are memorial monuments about the atomic bomb. There is the only palace which still stand after the atomic that it is the first monument that you can see when arrive in Hiroshima center. In my opinion the most terrible monument it the one made in memory of the children. I almost cried because there is Sadako's statue and it made me remembered "The Day of the Bomb" that it's one of the most sad stories I ever read, but it is a true story so it's even worst. The last part we visited was the peace museum. I don't even have the words to describe it. When people talk about war without had lived it, they don't know anything . Watching people with burned skin, or a blood spot that it's the only thing left of a person, o pictures of tumors... in that moment you can see the humanity darkness. I will always remember the stories told by survivors, it was so shocking.
In the afternoon we visited Miyajima, that it's an island near Hiroshima where you can find the famous Torii in the middle of the sea. It was raining but we had fun, even if we got lost three or four times. In my opinion Miyajima is one of the most spiritual places in japan, so I strongly suggest to visit it and to get some rest in the buddhist temple. Now it’s bed time So wait for tomorrow post See ya Miyako
Day 14- “coming back from tokyo”
Konbanwa minna-san, I'm sorry that I didn't finished my diary, so I decided to try and tell about our most precious memories.
I finally arrived in Kobe, at six in the morning, after seven hours on the bus . I tried to knock at the door for at least half an hour, but nobody answered. So I decided to wait seated on the floor outside and while I was waiting one of our neighbours said hello and looked at me with a strange look. After fourty minutes I tried to call my other friends and finally Ale opened the door. I entered my room and... Ylenia was missed. So I asked to others, but even they didn't know anything. I started to call and send message to everyone trying to reach Yle. In the end she was at our japanese friend's house with the others. After finding Ylenia's location, I was so tired that I had to sleep all afternoon. This is Ylenia who is taking a pics, while I'm sleeping behind her. It was a K.O.!!! Now it’s bed time So wait for tomorrow post See ya Miyako
Days12-13 "Friends in Tokyo" Konbanwa Minna-san! This post is about my trip in Tokyo to meet my friends who are staying there. I arrived in city at 6.20 am, just a little bit early in the moning. Thankfully my friends Cristina and Gabriele came to the station to take me to their room. We rested for a while and then met with some of their friends and one of mine: Kodai. We went to Ueno park and we saw an inari jinja really small, but similar with fushimi inari in kyoto. Inari is the god/ness of rice and has as messengers foxes , so if you visit a temple with red door (called torii) and with foxes you will be sure it's an Inari's. After ueno park we went to eat okonomiyaki... that it 's became the friendship dish. Hommani umaaa! (Kansai ben to say really yummy ) . In the afternoon they took me to their friend house, so I met Federico who has been so nice to host us . Gabri cooked gyoza and we had them with edamame. At night Federico took us out to enjoy roppongi night life. We went to two pubs and a club to dance. Tokyo is a very big and noisy city but it's also full of crazy people: the american-napoletano guy who tried to speak with us through gestures language, the two South american with the table at the club, the japanese boy who didn't want to understand that we didn't want to dance with him, but the best one was the australian guy with italian grandparents who were part of the italian mafia. I laughted so much that night and I had so much fun. After the club we went to eat kebab as we used to do in italy after disco. At 5.30 am, I think but I'm not so sure about it ,we finally went to bed. We woke up around noon and had ramen as lunch, then we went to the tokyo tower. In the evening I had to took the bus and came back to Kobe. It was so sad to say goodbye . Thank you very much for everything 😘 Now it's bed time So wait for tomorrow post See ya Miyako
Day 9- Nara to kae , festival delle lanterne Konbanwa, minna-san! After school we got the train back to Nara to see the lanterns festival. Thanks to our friends Flavio, Mari and her nice family we had the opportunity to stay and enjoy this beautiful experience. When we arrived in Nara Mari, her mother and her grandmother helped us to wear the yukata, so funny! They also offered us their traditional sweets made by gelatine and with liquid brown sugar on it. After we went out to walk through the park. It was the most suggestive experience in my opinion. We met also deers who were going to sleep and, as you can see in the last photo, we "met" (speaking the true , we stalked them 'cause they were sooo sweets) a japanese couple and took a photo together. After the park visit, we took off our yukata and went with Flavio and Mari to taste okonomiyaki. Okonomiyaki is something similar to an omelette with pork or vegetables and other stuff inside. Really yummy! Now it's bed time, So wait for tomorrow post See ya Miyako
Day8 - sannomiya PURIKURA Konbanwa minna-san! Today I bought the bus tickets for tokyo. If you want to go to tokyo and you're living in kansai I think that the cheapest way is to travel during the night. So you can use these night buses and arrive to tokyo early in the morning. After some problems due to this new holiday called yama no hi, I decided to leave on 11th at night. Obviously I can only stay one night in tokyo, but it' s the only way to visit my friends. In the evening we went to sannomiya to have fun doing purikura , which are these super kawaii photos. Also Luca and Yurika came to sannomiya with us and we had some maches at the dance game ... 1st place went to Luca 2nd place to Ylenia Now it's bed time So wait for tomorrow post See ya Miyako
DAY 7- NARA GARDENS Konbanwa Minna-san! Today post it's about our day in Nara. This is the deers city and you can give them food if you want, but my advice it's to not feed them. If you buy their snacks, deers will stalk you and sometime they also can bite . So do not give them food. However we got lost tring to find Isui-en (water park), a zen garden where you can find lot of tea pavillon. After some wrong streets we decided to ask thhe road. Thank god two nice man showed us the way and finally we got there. You must know that today was very very hot and it was 1.30 pm. I took some photos of the second garden. Around 4pm we came back to Kobe to watch Hanabi, fireworks. In japan everyone say "oohh" or "aahh" when the firework explode. It's really funny. Now it's bed time So wait for tomorrow post See ya Miyako
Day 5- TAIYAKI Konbanwa minna-san! Today post it's a little bit different because I wanted to show you this sweet granny. After school we decided to go to Nishi-motomachi and enjoy a oishii taiyaki. Taiyaki are sweets with a fish form and different tastes. Really yummy! So, this nice lady sold us taiyaki and asked where we come from. In the end we started a very good conversation, so lovely. 😁 we'll be back again, obviously . So it's bed time, Wait for tomorrow post See ya Miyako
Day4- first day at school
Konbanwa Minna-san! today we have started our lessons, yeah! I had my class N3 so now I can go crazy. First lesson has been like: ehm ok I understand everything, but not your questions sensei. However I enjoyed it very much. A lesson about music is always a great thing. At noon we had an entrance party with lot of yummy food. Altough I really like to eat, we had to take the train to go to the beach. So we spent the afternoon a Suma enjoying the water . I also had the occasion to get my favourite manga, while coming back at home. Waaa namaikizakari , I can read it Yatta! We had udon for dinner in a little place near home, where an old lady served us. Really yummy. But now it' s bed time Wait for tomorrow post See ya Miyako
Day2 - photos
Day3 - Harborland and Sannomiya
Konbanwa Minna-san! This morning we met at shinkaichi station to buy our coupon tickets for the month. Obviously there was the train man, who we had met the day before. Probably he hate me with all his heart, 'cause I asked him like thousand time about different kind of ticket. Finally I asked him for help and we got our tickets. After that we went to harborland, kobe port area., where we had a frappuccino at starbucks. The girls at the bar wrote on our glasses " welcome to kobe ", " have a nice day " and " thank you ". It was like being again home after a long time. So nice! Around noon we got back to school to have japanese test. Waaa T ▪ T. It was a nightmare, but I managed to get in N3 level. However my class has none other than me in it, so it'has been cancelled. In the afternoon we went to sannomiya, kobe center, and we met one of the bbq boys, who is a model in tokyo. The day ended with yakisoba as dinner. Yeahhh! Now it's bed time So wait for tomorrow post See ya Miyako
