The situation had been a quick one: one moment, Katerina was walking down the streets of Melbourne, and the next, she was on top of someone on the said streets of Melbourne. Of course, there were details to be made in the middle: how she tripped on unleveled pavement, how the other person hadn’t been looking at where they were going either, how others anticipated their fall before they actually fell. These details, however, didn’t matter much when one had fallen atop another in the middle of the streets, with all eyes on them. These details didn’t matter when one was put into a position such as this. Had Katerina been anyone else, she would have shied away from the eyes and the murmurs. But she was Katerina, so she said—

“Woah, woah— I think we’re taking things a little too far.” She pushed herself up from off the other person underneath her, using her arms to carry her weight. “I don’t even know your name, and we’re already on this level of the relationship! We should at least go out on a date and get to know one another before we end up here again.”

               the wind was knocked out of her with a whoosh, coffee flying off and spilling everywhere; cup rolling into the gutter as she hit the pavement with a blonde woman all but straddling/crash tackling to her the ground.   she coughed and spluttered and took a moment to get her equilibrium back before she registered what the blonde was saying.

                “ya alreet, lass?” she asked with a huffed, breathless laugh as they began to untangle their limbs and struggle to their feet, “if you’re looking to sweep me off my feet, that’s not what i meant, no need to take it so literally, like.”
