Significant Other: Gaara No Sabaku
• She first saw him during the final part of the Chunin exams from the crowd, when Konoha was invaded by Orochimaru and the Sound Ninjas, but had not formally met until after Gaara became Kazekage.
• When Gaara visits Konoha, she would talk with him, usually conversations about missions and things like that. She slowly started to catch feelings for him. She definitely fell for him after his famous speech.
• They grew even closer after the war and managed to spend every spare time with her every time he visits Konoha. They started writing to each other as well.
• During Naruto’s wedding, they decided to get together and can handle long distance for a little while, still writing to each other.
• Two years later, Miyako leaves Konoha to Suna and became a citizen there. A few months later, Gaara and Miyako got married.
• Four years later, they adopted a precious son named Shinki whom they loves very, very much.
• Now she’s happily married to Gaara the Kazekage with a son in Sunagakure, living her best life. She works at the Suna Academy as a sensei. Whenever Shinki and his mother are together in their free times, he teaches her how to embroider and make cute stuff for Gaara.
Oooh your request is open! 🤩 I would like to request a fic of Gaara’s s/o turning rogue. After Gaara was successfully assassinated, she was devastated and then grew angry and abandoned the village and joined the akatsuki. she pulled a pain and shinra tensei’d the village, causing many casualties. Temari talked no jutsu her and she regretted it, and then she went to ninja jail for life if that’s okay
Within the great pain of solitude and isolation, silence became a source of bittersweet comfort. The gentle hum of it, the burning of your ears as they craved to capture any sort of sound; anyone would have gone completely mad. Driven beyond insanity.
However, you were already there.
Silence meant peace. Silence meant that the voices were gone. Silence meant that your beloved village was no longer screaming from the agonizing pain you bestowed upon them.
Sometimes, if luck was on your side, you would get a chance to hear something.
The footsteps of a guard bringing you servings of pure garbage to eat three times a day, sliding it through the door, or, perhaps, the soft droplets of water from the rusted pipe in the corner of your cell as a source of hydration.
You would cup your filthy, trembling hands to catch the slow, dripping water. Once enough of it had pooled in your palms, you gulped it down. After all, the water could run out one day. You never had any visitors, as company was simply a fantasy for you. The guards could easily forget your forbidden existence.
The villagers prayed and begged for your execution. Surely, one day soon, you would have to kiss the unappealing meals and pipe water goodbye.
Glancing around the dark and dirty cell, taking in the brown bricks that encased you, a shiver ran through your rotting body. This place. This horrible place born out of misery and loneliness, was your home until the day you would pass away.
The day you were destined to burn in Hell.
You sighed.
Had your body functioned like a normal human being, hydrated and healthy, you might have been able to produce a tear as you thought of your deceased lover.
Gaara.
Oh, what you would give to go back. To travel back in time to the day you lost him forever…
_
THE DAY OF
“Gaara! C’mon, let’s go already!”
You smiled widely, a grin as bright as the sun shining in the sky spreading across your face.
You grabbed Gaara’s wrist, dragging him away from his office.
The red-haired Kazekage blushed, tripping over his own feet to keep up with you. Even if he struggled to keep up with the peculiar amount of energy and excitement you carried with you today, he wouldn’t dare ask you to slow down.
He loved it when your eyes glowed and your smile brightened with the likeness of the sun. If anyone asked him, that is what he’d say; you reminded him of the sun. The warmth that spread throughout his body whenever your fingers even dared to grace his skin, the way you moved your hands around when rambling on and on about your passions…it all lit a fire underneath him.
He loved you more than anything. God, did he love you.
For someone in a position of great power such as himself, it was quite rare for him to feel anything other than exhausting stress. But then, you’d show up, his little sunshine, bustling with adventurous excitement as you pulled the shinobi out of his seat, dragging him along to explore the village he had hardly ever got to see nowadays.
And now, as you pulled him along with you yet again, he had to fight to hold back his own tears.
He always tended to get rather emotional when it came to your love story, as someone so extraordinary and unwaveringly good chose him.
Someone chose Gaara.
You chose Gaara.
Him.
He couldn’t believe it.
At first, he could hardly define what the word love meant. If you asked him before he had fallen head over heels, he would have said nothing. Now, he at least knew that love was what he felt when he thought about you, and that was more than enough.
“Y/N, wait.” Gaara spoke up suddenly, halting your footsteps.
You turned to face him, tilting your head a bit.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, I just…” Gaara looked deeply into your eyes. “I just wanted to tell you that I love you, that’s all. I felt as if I needed to say that just now.”
A gaze of pure awe appeared upon your face. He was so sweet. You grabbed his hand, raising it to your lips to give it a quick kiss.
“I love you too, Gaara, very very much. Sometimes, it’s even kinda annoying how much I love you,” you beamed.
Gaara’s blush deepened, and he gave a small laugh.
“Now, let’s go!” You grabbed his wrist once more, taking him all the way to one of the highest mountains in the village.
-
The view was amazing. As the sun gave one final kiss to the sky, nightfall arriving as the beautiful moon took its place among the stars, you glanced down at the Sand village below, your loving home. You had watched the sunset with Gaara. It was a particularly gorgeous one, painting the sky with a peaceful orange and purple this evening. Even so, you had noticed Gaara’s astonishing eyes never left you.
“Gaara,” you looked over at him. “The whole point of watching the sunset is to gaze at the sky, not at the person sitting next to you.”
“I disagree,” Gaara smiled, tilting his head a bit. “I’d rather look at you. You’re something else, Y/N. The sky doesn’t even compare.”
His words melted your heart. You playfully shoved him softly.
“Hey, stop it!” Your cheeks grew hot. “You’re making me blush. Why are you being such a softie today, huh?”
You tickled him a bit, pulling away once you were satisfied with the small, low giggle he gave you unwillingly.
“Careful,” he grinned. “Did you think tickling me was a good idea?”
Suddenly, Gaara’s hands were on your waist, his fingers moving rapidly to tickle you before you could even protest. You shrieked, falling onto your back.
“Stop it! I’m sorry! I won't tickle you! I won’t tickle you!”
The sound of your laughter made his heart skip a beat. Gaara moved behind you, pulling your head onto his lap. He smirked.
“See? I’m not a total softie.”
He leaned over, kissing your lips gently. As he did, only one thought crossed his mind.
You were the person he wanted to marry.
Suddenly, the kiss was interrupted by a sudden shift in the wind. Footsteps were heard, shifting closer and closer.
You and Gaara had immediately snapped into sudden alertness. You both assumed that it was simply some civilians coming to the mountains to look down at the village from this beautiful height as well. It was a popular location for couples and friends to hang out.
A group of men appeared.
They were big, much bigger than you and Gaara. They covered themselves in thick black clothing, only their cold and unfriendly eyes showing, along with their Hidden Sand Village headbands.
“A couple of ninja,” You thought to yourself.
You were immediately on the defense, however, your alertness was suddenly broken at the sight of Gaara smiling at them, as he was relieved to see that it was fellow Sand shinobi.
“Can we help you?” Gaara asked politely.
They said nothing.
You and Gaara looked at each other.
You took a step back, placing a hand inside of your pouch, gripping a kunai. Gaara still didn’t seem to sense any immediate danger.
You, however, couldn’t manage to shake away this nauseating feeling of pure fear.
As a shinobi, your mind was specifically trained to analyze situations like this, to factor in all potential circumstances of the current situation. It was the only way to predict future scenarios.
Firstly, Gaara was the Hokage. He was always in a position of power and equal danger.
Secondly, it was dark. Night-time attacks were more common than the latter.
Lastly, you and Gaara were alone. There was no one to help, and nowhere to run.
“Hey, who are you guys? What do you want?” You called out aggressively.
“Relax, Y/N,” Gaara smiled. He held your hand. “I’m sure they’re just here to enjoy the view.”
With that, another group appeared behind you and Gaara, identical to the ones in front of you.
You were both surrounded on both ends, and horrifically outnumbered.
Your eyes widened with worry, and your nerves startled to swirl around in the pits of your stomach. Gaara’s smile faded. It seemed as if he finally realized that these guys weren’t comrades.
They were enemies. Enemies from your own village.
Gaara protectively pulled you closer to his own body.
“Lord Gaara,” one man suddenly spoke, his voice raspy and low. “We call ourselves the Seiko of the Sand Village. We are a group of ninja in protest of you as our Kazekage.”
You gritted your teeth, your grip on your kunai strengthening.
“Our goal is a simple one. We will assassinate you.”
With that, every single shinobi surrounding you both started a particular process of hand signs. Their movements were much too fast for even the most skilled eyes to follow. With one final unknown movement of their hands, Gaara instinctively tried to build a protective shield of sand around the both of you.
But it did not work.
Neither one of you could move.
“What the hell? What is this?!” You thought to yourself. You fought with all your might to move a muscle, but nothing worked.
You were both frozen. Frozen, and at their mercy.
The raspy man laughed.
“The jutsu we just performed was created specifically for you, Gaara. It was a work in progress from the moment you were born. It’s a jutsu that not only freezes your enemies, but it’s designed to prevent you from using your own sand to protect yourself. Gentlemen,” he looked at the fellow members of the Seiko. “Our sacred jutsu has worked. Tonight will be a night of celebration.”
They cheered.
“Sir,” one of them called out. “What about the girl?”
The raspy man looked at you.
“She’ll live. We aren’t monsters, unlike the Kazekage. Our one and only goal is to kill him.”
You fought with everything in your body to move, to shake off even a small bit of the apparent paralysis to toss your kunai. Maybe you could take out at least one of them that way.
“Gaara,” the raspy man stepped closer. “The Seiko believes that after all you have done in your past, a monster like you shouldn’t be allowed to live, let alone become Kazekage. So, we’ve decided to take matters into our own hands for the good of the village.
Gaara, today is your execution.”
Gaara was afraid.
He was terrified.
He was afraid from the moment he could no longer move his body, to the moment they spoke those words, to the moment a large, red ball of chakra was forcefully shoved through his stomach.
The pain was unbearable. It electrified with every second that he could no longer fight back. He couldn’t even scream. As his body was destroyed, he was forced to think about his own life. His parents. His siblings. Friends. Murders. Blood. You. It all flashed in his mind like a forbidden, repetitive slideshow. The man strengthened his concentration, the power murdering Gaara only becoming stronger. Blood streamed from Gaara’s kind eyes.
His parents…his siblings…his friends…murders…blood…
You.
When the power seized from the raspy man’s palm, Gaara collapsed to the ground.
“We’re done here,” he said.
With that, the Seiko left, and it took a few minutes for their paralyzing jutsu to wear off.
“Y/N…” Gaara’s voice called out weakly.
He coughed up blood. It splattered out of his mouth, rolling down his scratched cheeks. You crawled to him.
“Gaara! Oh my god,” your voice trembled.
His blood was pouring out of the enormous hole in his stomach. His insides were scrambled. It took all of the strength that he had left to glance up at you, the love of his life. His blood soaked hand trembled at his side, a tear rolling down his cheek.
“No…no,” you smiled with disbelief. “This isn’t happening.”
Gaara couldn’t move. He couldn’t do anything but bleed out.
“H-Huh-Hey,” you hiccuped, “Get up Gaara, come on. I’m gonna get you to the hospital, okay? Come on…come on.”
Your entire body trembled violently. You grabbed his other hand, holding it tightly.
“Gaara, don’t just lay there! Come on baby, I’m gonna get you some help, it’ll be okay, it’ll be…”
A sudden sob wrecked your entire body.
Gaara’s eyes paled, more tears fell from them.
He could hear you.
He knew that he was dying, but he couldn’t speak.
He couldn’t tell you goodbye.
You were soaked in his own blood. Your hands cradled his sad face, shaking his head to get him to speak, but he never did. And he never would.
His eyelids were growing heavy.
His cheeks, the ones that were a blushing mess earlier that day, were now pale of any color.
Gaara’s eyes never left yours. At first, they held fear. The realization that he was dying. The fear of death. Knowing that he would never see you again.
And now, they held nothing.
All life was gone from Gaara’s eyes.
His hand flopped over. It stopped trembling.
A scream of his name ripped out of your throat, as you could only hope that this was some sort of trick. A cruel nightmare.
Your eyes, blinded by tears, traveled down his lifeless body. You grabbed his hand, raising it to your quivering lips to give it a kiss. Your eyes glared at the ground where his hand had been. There were markings in the dirt, probably from his trembling.
Only, as you glanced closer, you noticed they weren’t markings.
It was his handwriting.
It was barely legible, but you managed to read it.
A violent scream came out of you, the pain was boiling, sickening and unbearable. You screamed and screamed until your throat couldn’t take anymore of the assault, and your tears soaked your face.
Gaara, who could hardly move moments away from his brutal death, wrote his last words.
Random question. Whats your headcanon for what Araya's face looks like? Do you think he trusts his team enough to show them?
I played around with a possible design
I headcanon that he's got a pretty average face, he's just shy. And yeah, I'm sure the other have seen him, he doesn't take it off often but with Shinki and Yodo, he's not as shy
AU when gaara’s s/o becomes an akatsuki member after gaara died and she destroyed the sand village killing almost everyone 🥲🥲
Hi! i'm gonna insert your oc if you don't mind <3 hope you like it!!
After the death of Gaara, Miyako completely fell apart. Losing him meant she lost some parts of herself too and that's why she joins the akatsuki.
Having gone through so much hardship in her life already and so much loss, her husband was the last person she could bear to lose. How cruel of this world to take the love of her life after already taking so much from her. She couldn't help but to think who was next? Shinki? Tenten?
Gaara's death made Miyako turn ice cold and as a result made her turn on her morals too hence why she joins the organization
None of the villagers could've seen Miyako's wrath coming--in their last moments all they felt was complete and utter betrayal. Many of the villagers share that they were grieving over the kazekage too and that he would hate her for what she's doing now but that only made Miyako more furious. She knows the pain Gaara had been through and she knows no one can feel the immense suffering she felt now that he was gone
after the destruction of the sand village, Miyako is visited by Gaara in her dreams. in this dream, he holds Miyako, hugging her tightly. He doesn't say a word, letting his embrace speak for him.
when Miyako eventually awakens she knows she must live with what she's done.
All she hopes is that Gaara can forgive her like he's forgiven everyone that's wronged him in his life.
