We closed on our house on October 1st!! It's been an incredibly long road, but I think the next three months of rehab will go very quickly. Home stretch.
Here is the entrance... clearly. We will be replacing the front door and the transom.
You walk into the front door and into the living room. That makeshift room you see straight ahead is the only bathroom in the house currently. It is going to be removed, and that area will become the dining area. We plan on exposing all the brick along the right side going up the stairs.
Here is the living room with plywood flooring. We plan on doing hardwood throughout. Right now we are planning on white oak. We are also going to expose the beams in the living room and replace the chandelier with a fan. The fireplace is just for show. We will be taking that out, and exposing the brick along that wall as well.
Another view of the makeshift bathroom, and the hallway leading back to the kitchen.
The kitchen is straight ahead, bathroom door on the left, basement door on the right. Once the bathroom is removed, we will be opening up the entrance to the kitchen to let more light into the rest of the house.
Second floor front bedroom. This room certainly needs work, but not as much as other spots.
Other half of the second floor front room.
View from the front room into the second floor hallway. You can see the stairs to the third floor on the right. The room straight back will be a bedroom, and the door on the left will be a second floor bathroom.
More second floor hallway, and John's shoe.
This is the bedroom in the back on the second floor.
Other half of the back bedroom on the second floor.
The view looking out of the back bedroom. That room on the right will be the bathroom, but it is currently a bedroom
Looking into the bathroom. We plan on having a washer and dryer in the closet space.
Another view of the future bathroom.
The stairs leading up to the third floor. We will be exposing the bricks along these stairs as well.
The third floor, and the left half of our contractor!
The third floor is currently two separate rooms. We are going to open it up to have one giant master bedroom. This is looking into the front room on the third floor.
The other half of the front bedroom on the third floor.
Looking into the back half of the third floor.
Straight ahead is the wall that separates the two rooms.
Back half of the third floor.
Looking at the two rooms from the stairs.
This view is from inside the kitchen. There is not much to it at the moment
Looking into the rest of the house from the kitchen.
The back wall of the kitchen... and there you have it. There is a lot of work to be done. I am really excited about posting the progress as we go!
