I read the Extraordinaries by T.J Klune and here are a few thoughts

-Nick is the most oblivious naïve character I have ever seen in my entire life (c’mon Nick. Ghosts? A tuberculosis insane asylum? Boy. You’re too trusting and too easily distracted by cookies)

-Nick’s obsession and his fan fiction is far too accurate.

-I also completely agree with him that Seth must be protected at all costs (even if he is more than capable of taking care of himself)

-Seth is such a Clark Kent

-THE SECOND HAND EMBARRASSMENT IS THE WORST THING I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE AND HOW DARE HE PUT ME THROUGH THIS

-Officer Rookie deserves a major raise after being forced to deal with Nick’s harassment (though ngl that scene where he hugged Nick when he came to pick him up and take him to the hospital got me emotional)

-Skwinkles Salsaghetti is the greatest gift of love.

-I NEED THE SEQUEL NOW

Okay, say it with me:

My mental health problems are real and they are valid

I will not judge myself for the bad days when I can barely get out of bed

I will not make myself feel worse because someone else appears to be handling their mental illness better than I am handling mine

Recovery is not a competition.

this is really selfish but

why can’t mental illness be like any other kind of sickness where you go to hospital and your loved ones come and give you flowers and tell you that they love you and hold your hand and make sure you get better

why doesn’t that happen instead of awkward silences and embarrassing tears and messy bedsheets and a bunch of other stuff no one actually talks about

w h y

I can’t find a single selfish thing in that.
