It's important to know that animals don't really "give" us anything, we take it. They don't give us their life for food, clothing, science, or anything else, we take it. They don't give us their milk, wool, eggs, or anything else they produce, we take it(typically after breeding them to over produce it and make them dependant on our taking it). Animals aren't just naturally in kahoots with humans, and aren't capable of making any sort of trade deals with us. They don't sacrifice anything for us as a species, and often actively protest when we do things to them that cause them harm. Humans take things from nature and the Earthlings around us as we see fit, and neither know nor care whether or not who we're taking things from would give us permission.
