i'm so fucking disgusted with the writers of this show. like i don't think i'll ever be over this bullshit. they ruined an interesting, ambitious female character because they wanted to use her as a torture doll to represent "evil hypocritical woman for trump™️" when that was never what alicent was just so they could send a message and live out their fantasy of "wrong" women being sexually punished.
like hey remember in the book when alicent did everything to protect her children and their children, put the crown on helaena's head and called her "my queen"? nah fuck that, she's still so in love and obsessed with her childhood bestie/gf that she's gonna try to force an abortion on helaena that would likely kill her. at this point helaena's death will probably be changed so that alicent sneaks moon tea into her food or something and that causes helaena to miscarry or something and that's why she jumps. every new episode of this show makes me hate the showrunners and blackcels more and more. do y'all feel vindicated? hope you're enjoying your faux feminist fanfic that's somehow the most misogynistic shit i've seen in a long time
mind you if they followed the books maelor should have already been here for a while. they fully only added this pregnancy to make alicent look even more terrible and to change helaena's death so that it's not the black's fault.

Yes, I understand, she killed people, manipulated many others, and all her actions are orchestrated for selfish purposes. She is, in a sense, a bad person. But have you considered the aspects of trauma, beauty, and the fact that I love her very much?

Crazy how alicent thinks her most maternal act was sending her child away when she stepped in front of a dragon for aegon, was the only person to stand up for aemond when he lost an eye, and committed literal treason to try and get her daughter and granddaughter out of the city. Girly has such a warped sense of self-worth and has never been given any agency to the point where she thinks her only worthy action is in inaction

Tessarion being confused is one of the best things I've ever seen.

Like I was saying the other day...
the thing is they could have had alicent and rhaenyra be more accurate to their book characters and act like real people while also making the change to have them be the same age and former friends AND ALSO shown that yes indeed even flawed "evil" women with a higher status than most women STILL face scrutiny and struggles because of their gender especially in a society like westeros, and yes the misogyny they face still has an effect on their decisions, mental health and status. one of my biggest complaints in media and feminist conversation in general is the idea that certain women don't face misogyny or that some actually deserve it. unfortunately the writers are both incompetent and have had a certain narrative they were set on pushing from the beginning
