my unpopular opinion is that i hate tiktok because now people just publicly watch loud ass videos in public spaces with no regard for anyone else. 100% it was not this bad with youtube, it’s such a different thing with tiktok. put on headphones. you are grown.

The Elizabeth Holmes anecdote I treasure most is the one where, in her promotional materials, she had claimed to have developed a “prototype” of a time machine when she was five years old. Then the screened showed what can only accurately be described as a “drawing” of a time machine done in “crayon.”

And it’s the most perfect-to-the-point-of-satirical illustration of Silicon Valley grift but it’s also really her only grift. She had a picture of a medical device and somehow coasted for years on that.

like. im serious. when was the last time you read a book and paid attention to every word and actually tried to absorb what you were reading. when was the last time you saw a piece of art and considered the hours it took to bring it into fruition. when was the last time you closed your eyes when listening to an album for a first time and kept them closed until the final song ended. have you gone to the park lately just to watch the birds fly from perch to perch? have you stopped to count your blessings?
