Pretty upset. Decided to post this.
Weighing in on transformations being cut due to ‘tight budget’. If you really care, I just reblogged a screencap of the situation. That’s the above image. I did not create that.

Did some repainting on the site
Yeah.
“…Gingras and Lehrman’s solution to this lack of trust in journalism is the aptly titled, “The Trust Project”, a new effort led by the authors and the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University. This project proposes that all journalists should disclose their expertise and any conflicts of interest and engage in rigorous citation in their writing. The sites that they write for should also have a published code of ethics…”
Heard the latest news
Well that’s ... expected.
By the recent incident and the behavior she inducing in her twitter feed, I do think she will be planning to leave for some time.
Still... “Boycott MN9?” From her at all the people?! Geeze you’re mad.
I’ve also heard doubters from both sides (journalist and people alike) say it would be boring game.
Well I give a reasonable doubt on it.
To Dina. I wish her to jump back to the workforce smoothly.
That’s, what, three kickstarters now? Before the game is out?
I can see why Capcom started losing interest in his pitches. I know we’re all still sour over not getting MML3, but just imagine being a publisher in that situation. He’s asking for around $4 million for a short indie platformer with very small amounts of incidental voice work.
I can only imagine how much he asked for to make a full sized 3D platformer with lengthy cutscenes and a full voice-acted script for MML3, and could definitely see him asking Capcom for even more on top of that.
Capcom was always the villain piece in the past, but I’m starting to have some sympathy towards them if he genuinely thinks an add-on level using an existing engine still takes $198,000 to create.
That kind of money could get someone a house. Instead, it’s going towards platforms being put in a different pattern, a few new enemies, and a boss. People say that video game development is expensive, but it should never, ever take ~$198,000 for single 2D platformer DLC level, no matter how talented the level designer is.
Mighty No. 9 (Goals) (10/30/2014)
WHAT THE HELL, INAFUNE!!
Where are the Japanese voice acting? Looks like that everyone involved in your project are losing interest.
Anyway, we need $290,000 for the New Stage + Rival Chracater Boss, in other words, the Mighty No. 0, indeed…
In other words…
We need of $190,000 for this.
If we reach this until april 2015, we will have, indeed, a game without DLC.
I'd have to say though, good luck with your endevour. By the previous calculations, it's seems impossible if only the backers shelled out the money and cut out the Japanese voice acting in the end.
Relying on slacker backers won't cut it. Drastic actions will definitely be needed.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
And now a word from anon about the recent update.
-----
Does anyone recall this thread?
Or this article?
Well, after announcing the DLC, I recalled these very prophetic words:
AN: Koji-san. Since you’re the Director of Mighty No. 9, it would be pretty fair to say that you have the best understanding of the development process and collaborative process as a whole. After seeing the dynamics between everyone who is part of the game’s development, do you think that comcept will be able to come together and make Mighty No. 9 sequels in the near future?
Imaeda: Let’s not get ahead of ourselves! (laugh) First and foremost, we need to devote all of our time and energy into making the first game a success, so we don’t have the spare time to think about sequels! Although… the idea “if we do this in the first game, how about this or that for the second or third!” often comes up in discussions with the dev team. Everyone on the team definitely has what it takes, so I’d like to make sequels happen.
Nick: I’ve yet to meet a creator who doesn’t think about sequels! (laugh) Our Mighty No. 9 team is no exception. Depending on how well the game does, you might not only see sequels, but maybe spin-offs as well! Let’s do it, everyone!
Funny, how the past haunts everyone.
#WRECKED HOLY SHIT
Oh God Mighty No. 9 looks terrible.
I would’ve even put up with Dina if it meant a good Mega Man style game. Inafune pls.

[Guest] Makuake Mathematics
This special broadcast is brought to you by anon. Enjoy!
For those who don’t know, during the funding, the people responsible for the infamous $200,000 voice acting offer has not only opened one via Paypal but also based on a Japanese Kickstarter clone called Makuake. I’ve originally suspected that Makuake and this Paypal system we are using are counted into the picture update thing that we have. This anon, using mathematics, proved the contrary.

What.
>that horrible running animation
>bland as fuck graphics - looks like a damn IOS game
>uninspired level design - the first bit is literally just a hallway with a few enemies stuck on
>those lazily drawn character icons
>boring music - doesn’t add anything to the environment at all
>dash mechanic looks broken and allows to kill all the enemies in the same way
>barely any platforming
>can’t seem to decide whether Mega Man or Mega Man X/Zero/ZX is the major inspiration - instead there’s this awkward mishmash of both
I realise this is a beta but christ, this isn’t looking too good.
...And that's just the "3rd (and final)" beta update.
