started this piece a little while ago when the whole amazon ai dub happened. a bad decision overall but made even worse by the fact it happened to a series that is so incredibly human. i was inspired to somehow incorporate the english transcript into an artwork. yes, the english transcript is there. don't ask me how long it took to copy it all down.... anyways happy december 20th guys.. haha..

Ajin Week Day 7: Anything goes

sharing this older piece as my contribution to ajin week! this was a project for art school where we were tasked with recreating a famous painting in the style/process of another artist. I chose sakurai gamon. the lineart was done traditionally on a piece of illustration board, with screentones added digitally.

recently i’ve noticed this thing i do now where i’ll tear up/get choked up whenever i find something iconic??? it’s not even something emotional i guess the vibe is just so cool it makes me malfunction

very excited to share some keikaikou tomfoolery with my giftee, @origami10 @oreigano!! you wanted neon high contrast colours, and for some reason that made me think of kaito (specifically his earrings) and then that made me think about claire’s (a jewelry and accessory store aimed at preteens), since that’s the kind of place that sells smiley face earrings. and so i chuckled at the thought of kaito and kou dragging kei to the store and kei initially not wanting to go because he thinks it’s dumb, but he ends up having a decent time!

definitely not used to using a neon-esque colour palette, but i had fun! hope you like it! happy holidays :)
