               he made a MISTAKE when they met again after years. he didn’t RECOGNIZE her and of course that was like a punch in the face. this time though, that wasn’t going to happen. despite of the DIFFERENT haircut that is gracing her style, he can’t forget that PERSONALITY of hers. right, he was confused at first, but it was because of how many years had passed and how she literally went MIA from his life. truth is, it was a DELIGHT to see her again. after all, she was such a PRECIOUS friend to him. 

                approaching her from behind, hands went to cover her eyes. silently walking, trying not to let his steps be heard so she wouldn’t turn around. and as soon as he get what he wanted, lips opened up to speak.

There’s a twitch to her body when she feels the warmth of another radiating from behind her, it’s only the recognition of a voice, the recent familiarity of soft hands over her eyes, that keep the young heiress from jerking from the unexpected hold and attempting to protect herself.

“Ren-chan!” There’s still a gasp to her voice but she laughs as she takes hold of his hands in her own as she tilts her head back, smiling cheerfully at him. “You startled me! What are you doing here?” Not that he couldn’t be here just that, most boys wouldn’t willingly approach a pastry shop without being coerced. Especially not this early in the morning.

“Would you like to sit down for coffee?” Certainly this place was no LeBlanc but it certainly wasn’t an establishment to sneeze at. She did come here specifically for their breakfast croissants, after all.

For a moment the little girl who’d never known her mother, who’d lost her father in her mad rush to freedom, who’d felt her best friend ripped from her by his own obsession reared her head to scream indignation at the young man before her who seemed to have gained much more than he last. But, Haru had grown into someone who could understand this and also understand that there was no one person to blame for her own circumstances and, instead of cursing this man in his own home, simply smiles and tipped her head in a gentle, if familiar, bow. “It’s been quite a while, Hijirikawa-kun.”

“Forgive me for stopping by unannounced, Ren-chan insisted I stop by! He said he had a surprise for me.” She maintains her smile that, while not disingenuous, is still calculated as a soft laugh tumbles from her lips. “I have to assume that surprise is you. It really has been a long time, though. You’ve grown quite a bit, too! I hope Ren-chan is treating you well.”

“An owl cafe would be kinda cool to go to. It isn’t a cat cafe, but owls look so fluffy. Don’t you agree?” Akira wanted to take in all the sights of Tokyo. These animal themed cafe’s were on the top of his list. Already having spent money and time at all the cat ones.

“They do! I’ve heard owls are very affectionate as well!” The sparkle in Akira’s eyes easily pulls a laugh from the smaller woman's lips. She could tell how enthused he was about this and, truth be told, she’d never been to any of the animal cafés in the area. This was absolutely the kind of excuse she needed to show up at one. “I’ve never been, though it seems like fun! Perhaps we should go together?”
