As far as I can recall, Taliesin never stated that Mollymauk is nonbinary. That’s cool if it works for you! More power to you! But it’s not stated canon. :/ Don’t lie and say it is the case when it’s not. I am an agender pansexual being, btw, so don’t cast me in with what, presumably, you’ll think is a straight™ being oppressive or whatever, thank you very much.

Dungeons & Dragons is a game of chance just as much as it is cooperative storytelling between the players & DM. At the end of the day, what the dice says, goes. Don’t like it? Tough, find another game that doesn’t rely on outcomes of chance my dude cuz otherwise D&D probably ain’t for you if you don’t realize this or like this.
Thanks but I’m more into it for the story. A low level character dies. I’ve died several times playing Baldur’s Gate, Planscape, and other D&D based games, or podcasts/videos/etc that I’ve watched or listened to. It’s a fact of life that when you’re low level, every fight is a dangerous one. Every fight could well be your last. Them’s the breaks if it is.
If it is indeed, Molly could still come back in oneshots if Taliesin wants him to.
Vax died in the first campaign and came back as a Revenant. Sure, he was up in the teens & made a deal with the Raven Queen, but there’s still a chance that Molly will be back. Maybe not as himself, or maybe he will be. But there’s still a chance.
Matt’s a great goddamn DM, excuse you. I’ve watched CR since campaign 1; there will be discussions between the players and the DM as to what actions they can take (like in Vax’s case). Matt is not a shit DM and does not target non-heteronormative characters or else Molly’d be dead well before now - as would Vax in Campaign 1. Matt always makes in character decisions, and this guy would’ve attacked Molly to begin with. He also respects dice rolls as they fall.
I FUCKING LOVE DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS. Love Critical Role, the Adventure Zone, Dice Camera Action, Friday Knights, Drunks & Dragons, Acquisitions Inc., and there’s honestly so many more podcasts and streams I watch/listen to dude it is hundreds of hours sunk into so many different fucking groups and settings and video games and guess what fam? I fucking love every single second of it. I love hearing about my friends’ campaigns and characters, though I don’t play in their groups! It’s the coolest thing to me to hear about these worlds and characters!! As I stated above, I love playing D&D video games, too! In conclusion, yes I do 100% care about the game.
Don’t get me fucking wrong, though, my dude. I also care(-d) about Molly; I love(-d) him, he is/was a great character and I would like to learn more about him. However... I care about a good story more than just him - and that goes for any of the M9 characters. All of them, even Yasha, Nott, & Caleb. Which, incidentally, I just so happen to trust these people to tell a damn fine one.
Also, while we’re in the neighborhood of me talking about our beloved cast and crew, I also 1000% care about the people behind the characters. They do not deserve your vitriol because they made questionable actions or mistakes in game and/or in character. They do NOT deserve your curses. Your anger. Your blind fucking hatred. All because dice rolls and their actions were not with them last Thursday and Molly came up short on luck.
THERE ARE LIVING, BREATHING PEOPLE BEHIND THE CHARACTERS AND THE DM SCREEN. DON’T BE AN ASSHOLE TO THEM BECAUSE YOU DON’T LIKE THE OUTCOME OF RANDOM CHANCE OR IN-CHARACTER BAD DECISIONS.

It is a fucking game between friends that we are not a part of. We are not entitled to throw shit or hatred at any single person sitting at that fucking table.
