I can only speak to my experience working cirque and trapeze shows, but….

This is absolutely gay culture. Not being facetious. Out of the 60+ trapeze artists and other aerial performers I have met in my life…. Exactly one is straight. One. Uno. Singular.

The first out gay person I ever met was a professional trapeze catcher, and I think everyone in my school’s circus club was LGBTQ.
