why does it feel so much more comforting to say things when we know someone can hear? even if we don’t want a response, even if I don’t want the listener to be my friends, as I don’t want them to worry. It’s strange how releasing my feelings to the wind doesn’t carry the same comfort and dispelling of loneliness as releasing them to silent strangers does. Even though their knowledge of me and response is much the same (none). Although I suppose the strangers do know me, as they know me through themselves. I wonder if this how religious people feel when they talk to God. No one speaks back but you have the comforting silence like a friendly ear at the other end of a telephone line
