why are journal articles written in columns like I don’t care if it’s effectively for a magazine stop talking about half the paper and THEN having a figure that was relevant fifty lines ago

What I worked on today:

studied for my pedagogy exam
studied for my English didactic exam
wrote a couple of E-Mails
Currently reading:

On a slightly more positive note, i got a phd position
I know i have been mia but studying abroad brings so many bureaucratic nightmares with it and i was not prepared. I could not cancel the internet cause i first had to prove that i would move abroad but i could not register my moving date to the municipality ("moving cannot be done in the future" what are you talking about) until i actually moved and so i had to wait until i got a confirmation by mail so i could finally cancel my internet but then the internet box had to be sent back but i cannot do that because i already moved and my former roommate is just impossible to reach and now this internet box keeps haunting me and getting into contact with the internet provider is a disaster (you cannot email them) and rarely anyone at customer service speaks english and i cannot speak german and its a true disaster only because of this fucking box
i’m super late but here’s my planner spread for march!! 🍄🍵🪺🍂 all the cottagecore vibes with my new vintage stickers that i scored on etsy 🥹 also peep the not-so-accidental tea smudge on the third pic! it’ll be on my march spread, which should be done real soon 🫶🏼 https://www.instagram.com/p/CqYHxP3Pa-H/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Academic wins can look like:
Getting an A on your test
Organizing a study group
Studying daily for an hour or two
Having perfect attendance
Getting that grant/scholarship
Getting ahead in all your classes
Academic wins can also look like:
Actually being able to focus in class for once
Getting enough sleep and food
Fighting through your depression and finishing a single assignment
Turning in a paper a little late
Taking a mental health day
Getting a C on a test you thought you failed
Academic wins are personal. They're different for everyone and depend on you, your goals, your mental and physical health, and your overall well-being. For someone working full time, getting that C and showing up to class once a week is a win and something they should be proud of! For someone who has everything financially covered and can devote plenty of time, getting the deans list should be something they rightfully should brag about! Achievements are Achievements regardless. Don't let anyone take your wins from you
