I think the biggest thing we ever got wrong was the idea that Carlos ever found NV weird in a concerning, 'it shouldn't be we should change that' kinda way. This man was always thrilled that things were strange and dangerous in NV. What he needed to learn was that the people in NV are very aware and don't really need him to warn them about things like clocks not working, the sun setting at the wrong time or radiation in the radio booth. Once he realised that he just went back to doing science on NV for sciences sake and that's when we really got to see how weird (affectionate) Carlos is
