Myles was born into a family that was troubled from the start. His mother was ill, giving birth only worsening her health and inevitably driving his father to leave instead of stepping up. Instead, his big brother Colin became the head of the house which included making sure everyone was taken care of. Myles looked up to his sibling, thinking of him as the hero this family so desperately needed. All he'd ever known was the love of their mother and the protection of his brother. While Colin was out doing whatever he did to get food on the table Myles would care for their ailing mother. These were moments he treasured. Even though he was changing her bedding, and helping her bathe, she still treated him like the child he was. They would read their favorite books together in bed drinking herbal tea. Myles didn't know anything else, something in his brain always being a little different than that of his brother. Even while watching his mother deteriorate before his eyes he was able to find something to smile about and she always called him Molt because of his ability to shed the past. Her dying wish was for Colin to watch out for him which Myles knew meant he'd always be safe.

Even though Colin tried his best to harden the kind heart that his younger brother had it was never any use. Myles saw bloodshed before he was ten and even watched the life disappear from his mother. The things his brother did were unmentionable but he didn't seem phased. No matter what life threw his way he was able to find a smile, a brighter day ahead and it drove Colin absolutely mad. When Anne died it felt like things were truly never the same, she had helped fill the void after their mother died and now she was gone. His brother invested everything into his business so Myles was left to his own devices. That's when he started to find ways to entertain himself while Colin was away. The one that stuck around the longest was origami. When he gets stressed out he can usually be seen making paper cranes out of scrap paper, something about it is soothing to him. Myles knew how to block out the bad things that happened, by now it felt like the normal way he lived. As Colin flourished he followed behind doing whatever he could to help which included becoming the fiance of his next target, Atta Dreyfus. Myles is doing the best he can to make his brother proud but still staying true to exactly who he is.

Myles can get overstimulated sometimes and prefers to be an observer. After spending so much time alone growing up he doesn't mind the quiet. He likes to watch other people and see how they interact with the world.

The best secret keeper you could ever find. Anything that someone tells him stays with him. He takes trust and his friends very seriously.

He's actually quite a good cook. While growing up so close with his mother she taught him to make her family recipes. Colin never says thank you but he knows he always appreciated it.

No matter how hard he tries he can’t seem to keep plants alive. He wishes he could but much like the people in his life he was never able to save them.

Life moves a little slower for Myles. He takes his time with everything, thinking if this was the life he was given he might as well enjoy every moment of it. 

He boxes in his free time, knowing from a young age that he needed to know how to take care of himself if he ever needed. That’s the only place he can get out the emotions trapped inside of him, the unsightly ones that his brother wears proudly. Instead, Myles gets out everything he needs to in the boxing ring.

"Myles!" Her turn around the corridor found her right in front of the person that she had spent her time thinking about. Despite them living and working in the same place, it was a surprise to see him throughout the day. There was still giddiness in Mavis' demeanor after all this time knowing him and even after being engaged to him, her smile never lost its place with him near. The growing habit of closing the space between them at any chance had made its way into their respective shifts. Maybe it was a tad unprofessional for her to be this way while they'd been working but Mavis had been responsible for too much of her life that she found it fair to have moments of weakness. "My dear fiancé, do you think you can find ten minutes to take a break and walk with your future wife?"

He felt like the day was flying by, never having enough hours now that he worked at the hotel. Myles had always treasured time. After losing their mother the Hopper boys took different things with them but to the younger, it was just how little time people have. It was one of the reasons that finding out his fiance was a vampire had actually brought a sense of relief, never having to worry about when her final moments would come, or having to live a life without her. That was only one of the many changes the girl brought into his life. As he stared up at the decorations he hung for the season his thought process was infiltrated by his favorite sound, his name on her lips. "Mav!" He quickly greeted with his own smile growing and arms open to welcome her in. "I'll have to ask my boss and see if it's alright." Both of them knew that it was her who he was speaking about. Myles had found that which made him happy, something for a time he never thought was possible. His arm wrapped around her shoulder in preparation for their walk though he wasn't sure of their destination Myles just started to walk. "Everything okay, my love?" A simple question to some but after all they'd been through he always made sure to check in.

It doesn’t go unnoticed by the blonde that he was obviously trying to say he was saving the spot for someone else, but Sarah hardly cares about any of that. Whoever was planning to join him could easily be forgotten with a quick little spell if needed. Another giggle of a laugh escapes her as he tries to refute how delicious he may be. “Oh, no. I could never eat the food of angels - it would be quite sacrilegious,” she retorts, though hardly meaning it in the way that he will likely take it. Master and Mother Witch would hardly approve of consuming anything meant for the angels - stealing it and destroying it maybe would be alright, but actually eating it? Oh no. That was an absolutely no-go. Perhaps if she were smarter, like Winnie or honestly even Mary, she would have picked up on the nerves that were present the moment this man started talking about hiding. It would have been obvious to likely anyone else that he was clearly indeed hiding from something, a something that he seemed desperate to avoid again. But Sarah was hardly the smartest witch in the coven and none of that was noticed by her. Instead she just continues smiling and shakes her head. “Hiding from me, of course. I would have remembered seeing a face as strangely beautiful as yours before. And I try to make myself well known amongst all the eligible suitors around here.” It was a small trap laid, just a simple statement she waited for him to confirm or deny. Not that it mattered to her whether he was single or not, she planned to have her fun regardless, but it would be good to know whether she needed to break out the magic or not.

Myles was already searching for a way out of the conversation, unsure what to do with the advances the girl tried to take. This usually wasn't an issue for him since women were certainly not his strong suit and his loyalties lay with another. Besides he didn't know her intentions, coughing it up to being flattered by her words but uninterested in hearing any more. For all Myles knew she was a guest and didn't want to offend while still making it clear his gaze wouldn't be faltering from his girlfriend. "I'm sorry uh, hiding from you? Oh, no ma'am you must be mistaking me for someone else," he replied through an uncomfortable chuckle. Myles was just as uncomfortable getting out of a conversation as he was starting one. There had been some comfort knowing she wasn't sent by his brother but still struggled to determine an exit strategy. "I'm not eligible actually. You see, I'm actually waiting for a friend who's helping me with a proposal." The boy hoped his explanation of what brought him there that night was enough to keep her from closing in on him.

With it only being a few weeks since she’s arrived on Echo Isle, Laura hasn’t actually dared yet venture beyond the hotel she had heard so much about growing up. Of course she had a very valid excuse and reason ready for if anyone questioned it, believing that she needed to truly understand the way Hotel Transylvania operated for the sake of her job, which should come before going out and having fun with the rest of the world. That was, obviously, a big fat lie though and the truth of the matter boiled down to the simple fact that she was terrified of what waited for her beyond the walls of this safe haven her uncle and cousin had built. But at this point, even she could see it was getting a bit ridiculous and she knew eventually she was going to have to just rip the band-aid off and go for it.

Or maybe, she thought as she stood in the lobby and stared at the door in all its huge manorly glory, maybe baby steps could work. Her first human interaction didn’t have to be with someone out there. She could befriend someone already in the hotel - or even better, someone who already knew what she was, that way she didn’t have to worry about slipping up and saying something she shouldn’t. And Laura knew exactly who that person should be. She’d technically already met him, Mavis having introduced the two when she first arrived - but beyond a simple hello they hadn’t shared much time together. That was about to change, though, as she turned on her heels and made her way through the hotel, in search of her cousin’s special friend.

It took a few minutes to find him, and when she finally did it was in the kitchen where he was working on making some kind of human food that Laura had probably never heard of before. “Hello,” she greets cheerily, making her way over to stand on the opposite side of the giant island in the middle of the room. “You’re a normie, right? That’s what Mavis told me at least, though she didn’t exactly use that word - but she said you were human and didn’t mention you having any kind of magic. I’ve never really met a normie before. Not a full one at least - I don’t think Jackson counts no matter how much he’d argue that he does, since he has the whole Holt thing going on. But other than that, it’s been all monsters in my life. Even my old donors were magical humans, not normies.” It was a long-winded spiel that likely showed just how nervous she was to be having this conversation, but it all came spilling out before Laura could really stop herself. She was so used to just saying whatever was on her mind with her friends that she hadn’t taken the time to think through just what would or wouldn’t be appropriate to say to humans. Thank gods she had decided to use Myles as her first go at this because once all the words were out of her mouth she realized just how big of an error they had been. “I… probably shouldn’t go around calling people normies, should I?”

Since leaving the Hopper base and calling the Hotel Transylvania he had felt freer than ever. He was home for the first time in years. Not only that but the boy had found a job he was good at for once. While it wouldn't be even close to what his brother wanted for him, this life made him happier than Myles knew possible. A part of him hated to think that Hopper's bombing helped things fall into place but instead made lemonade out of lemons, as it led him to where he stood now, making Christmas cookies in the hotel kitchen. With the holidays quickly approaching he was preparing for the influx of visitors and homemade cookies were a crowd favorite. Myles hadn't expected company, knowing that Mavis was off with her Aunt and the kitchen staff had closed out for the night but it didn't go unwelcome. He went to give more than a wave of introduction but her question beat him to the punch. The rambling went as storytelling to Myles as he listened to her experiences, finding most things others had to share about themselves quite interesting. "Maybe but only because not everyone would take it the right way," he frowned for a second, not wanting to bring down the mood while making sure she knew not every human was as safe as him. "Yeah, I'm just a regular guy." His words were joined by a smile starting to return to his lips. It wasn't something he was ashamed of but finding the same of those who were magical. "Honored to be the first you've met, hopefully, I'm not too intimidating," Myles said putting the last of his snowflake-shaped sugar cookie dough onto a tray to be swapped with the reindeer in the oven.

With Winnie alive and back in their lives, the apartment that had once belonged to just the middle Sanderson now held all three sisters and was getting well… a bit crowded. Not that Sarah would ever say that to either of the other girls, having learned centuries ago to never complain about the necessities that the two smarter sisters provided for her. But it was true. Which was what led the blonde back to the Hotel Transylvania, needing just a single night to herself with a bit more space. Never before had she ever required such a thing, but the years of living alone without her sisters had given her an appreciation for having a bit of alone time. And it never hurt that going out meant the chance of running into potential new suitors. Like the man sitting alone at the bar, immediately catching and keeping Sarah’s attention the moment she saw him.

There was a good chance he was waiting for someone else, but she hardly cared if that were the case. A bit of her special magic would have him forgetting all about whoever he may already be technically tied and committed to. But there was no need to jump right in with the big guns, there was still a certain specific type of thrill that came with snagging a man with her own witts before the magic had to get involved. “Well hello there, stranger,” she greets, sliding in to stand right beside her new mystery man. As she did so, her hand came up and rested on his arm and a suggestive smile played out on her lips. “Aren’t you a cute little thing? I could just eat you up. Tell me, where have you been hiding?” A giggle had escaped her at the mention of eating him, her own little inside joke she had with herself whenever she thought back to the times when she had been required to devour the souls of others to survive and stay young.

Myles was starting to get nervous as Halloween approached, knowing what the day meant to his girlfriend and hopefully what it could soon mean for their future. He'd planned to get drinks with a friend that evening to go over final details but it was to his surprise that someone else had taken the seat beside him. "Oh, I was actually saving that for-" She was already taking on another sentence when he tried to get his out. Of course, he didn't want to be rude so he returned the smile, figuring it was a simple misunderstanding that could be easily cleared up. "Me? Uh, thank you," Myles replied sheepishly unsure of how exactly to take the comment. "I don't think I'd taste very good, I'd much prefer a slice of angel food cake or some Massaman curry." While he tried to relate to the woman beside him he feared he strayed farther from understanding. Silently he hoped his friend would appear to save him from more unnecessary rambling. "Excuse me, hiding? What makes you think I'm hiding?" The small concern that she was sent by his brother settled in now that he thought about how it had been worded. All this time he'd avoided a confrontation with Colin, hoping that perhaps the man was actually happy that he was finally rid of the brother he never wanted.

For as much as she could be comfortable around death, it was something Mavis hadn't spent too much time worrying about. At least that's how it was until the festival attacks. Well - in reality, thoughts about death had sprung on her going back to when the hotel's bombing took place. Thankfully, she wasn't in the hotel when that happened but just the very thought that she could have been had she not been out that day was a troubling thought that she pushed past her as to not bum herself out. But now that she had been injured by the hands her father warned her against, Mavis was left thinking about her own mortality. Throughout these past weeks, a surprising amount of sentiment focused on her own mom. She'd reflected on how much time her mother would've had with her father had she still been living. Mavis could hear all the stories and read all the letters her mother had left behind but with very little memory of it, she had to simply trust the journey of it all was worth it while it lasted.

Someone she could expect to make her journey worth it was Myles. He'd been by her side, making sure she was alright throughout her recovery. There were simultaneously all the words in the world and yet none at all that could describe the bliss she felt around him. The feelings she'd kept from him were no longer in hiding, and she'd been grateful that she didn't have to keep them locked away anymore. It made so much sense to her that they were meant to be in each other's arms rather than at arm's lengths away. She couldn't help but be stuck by his side, especially when he wrapped his arms around her, she couldn't find herself leaving them anytime soon. As they rested in their bed, Mavis pondered the nearby future, "I want to go see the rest of the country sometime soon. Make an adventure out of it, maybe vacation out there for a weekend or something." Traveling was certainly something she would've been keen to do right as the barrier came down but since her wings were injured at the time, and she had to think of Myles now rather than planning a solo trip, she figured now was the best time to finally discuss the possibility of a trip. "I want to do that thing that people like to do, with the walking up hills and stuff—hiking! That's what it's called, right?"

After all these years he finally felt like he had found home. It was lost when his mother passed and the Hopper family hadn't felt whole since. While he didn't always think it was a person he lacked when Myles found Mavis he came to realize what he'd been missing all along. Their mother was a light, the person who never made him feel different, and anytime she was near Molt could feel her undeniable warmth. Now that same feeling was shared with the woman who lay beside him in bed, his arm around her shoulder, a thumb gently brushing over her skin in contentment. For the first time in who knows how long Myles was excited for a future and actually saw one ahead that was more than he ever imagined. When his life had been absorbed by Colin he wasn't so sure things would turn out okay but now that he'd found something good, something that was his, he knew it would be alright.

Myles hummed as she spoke, not able to nod with her head tucked comfortably on his chest. "I've never been out of Echo," the brunette confessed giving a shy smile. He'd only dreamed of what all could be out there but now that he had the opportunity to see it with the person he loved most. "We can experience it together. See all the sites, eat all the food, do all the hiking." He emphasized to make sure she knew she'd used the right word and Molt was more than happy to participate. Colin never wanted to do the sightseeing things when they did go on a business trip. Instead, Molt would stare at things from the car window and imagine what it would be like to visit, now having the chance. "That's only the beginning, we could do anything we wanted, Mav."

It felt like waiting an eternity to hear him finish his statement. Instinctively, Mavis knew Myles wasn't going to be someone who would shun her or push her away. But she did have to prepare herself to feel a devastating emptiness in her heart if he did. She nearly thought her fears were confirmed by his silence but then he continued and his affirming words sounded almost too good to be true. It was like a weight had been lifted, with her even feeling like she could breathe easier now. Every bit of trust she had in him was assured in this moment and now she really could know for certain that what she did was right. It was even a bit silly looking back at any doubt that he wouldn't be supportive but doubts had been all that foiled her wishes ever since her dad left. With her having to stick to her own guidance and things ultimately going wrong, she was led to believe her gut instinct was off in some way but this had only brought back a confidence in herself that was unmatched by anything else.

"It really doesn't bother you?" It was a useless inquiry but one she felt she had to make, almost a bit too stunned to believe that it wouldn't. But after that initial shock, it was pure joy coming from her. She couldn't exactly tell when the last time she was this happy, which maybe was a commentary on how much the recent past had taken a toll on her but needless to say, it didn't come as a surprise that the only person that could've brought on a smile this big was Myles Hopper. The giddiness in her could not have been toned down, not a single thing in this moment could have disrupted her complete elation. She had brought him into her arms but an embrace wasn't enough, Mavis had too much affection for him hidden away for so long that a mere hug felt too simple of an act to show her appreciation. The animated decision of bringing her lips to his didn't feel out of place, it felt right. Myles had always felt right. She was just happy to have lived this long to finally understand the kind of love her parents once had.

Molt had seen unmentionable things before he was even of legal age. There was enough bloodshed to last him a lifetime and yet discovering that his girlfriend was a vampire didn't come close. What could've sent him running only comforted him in knowing she wouldn't suffer the same fate as his mother. Sickness wouldn't be able to take Mavis away from him, not even time could, and in that, he found the peace he'd longed for. "Of course not," the boy piped up, shaking his head at the idea. Myles found the accusation of that far more disturbing than the actual news. He'd prepared for the worst, only coming to find out that she was, in fact, way cooler than him which he already knew to be true. "I thought you were going to tell me you hated me or something." An embarrassed chuckle came out with his words as his free hand went to comb back his hair. It came with being a Hopper, knowing that his family name alone could cause someone to want nothing to do with him.

The boy was happy to find that she wasn't repulsed by him and was instead able to hold her properly for the first time since the fall. That had happened not too long after they met, unable to get her out of his mind. He'd known for a while that she was special to him, finding out now she was special to the world. In this moment, he didn't need to share her with anyone else and she'd allowed him closer than ever before. He didn't want to ruin it or push but Mavis filled the void with the thing he'd only thought about since their meeting. "I am glad you found me," Myles said as his forehead rested against hers, having felt lost for most of his life until they met.

Atta wasn't entirely sure what she'd done to deserve the kindness he continued to show her, especially when she'd gone out of her way to actively not spend the rest of her life with him, but there was a strange sense of bonding she knew they shared after seeing his brother at his absolute worst. It took a particularly strong person to feel like they had any semblance of control when it came to Hopper. Any person who would look out for her, she would gladly return--and, now, so would Buster, with the physical strength that could probably outweigh both Atta and Myles ten times over. "I'm glad you are, too, and that she's okay. There's nothing you can do with something like this, though, you know that," she reminded him, hoping that he could recall the same helplessness they'd felt before with his brother.

With her arm in his, Atta followed his lead toward his room, Myles seeming to feel even more at ease the more time he spent at the hotel. "So, is the plan to just stay here for as long as they'll have you?" Atta teased, leaning into his shoulder with a curious raise of her brow. Atta couldn't tell the exact nature of the relationship between Myles and Mavis, but she did know that she'd never seen him so happy. While she knew that was partially due to the new freedom he had from his brother, Atta also had a feeling that the girl in his life had something to do with it, too. "If it's too much chaos here, you know you're welcome to come stay with me, too."

They hadn't been meant for marriage; they had both found their happiness outside of the arrangement. It had been orchestrated by the only family the boy had left and there had been no looking back since that day. As more days passed Myles had let go of his brother, the man he'd wanted his younger brother to become, and the reality of who he was destined to be. They would never be the same and once the bombs had been dropped on the hotel Myles knew where his loyalties lay. He was glad to see Atta found a way out of her own entanglement with his brother while knowing that the battle was far from over for the both of them. "I know," he agreed quietly. It was a fact he hated to accept whether it was true or not. "I just hate seeing her like that." His hands felt idle when she was hurting and there was nothing he could do to help.

His room provided a safe place for them to speak as well as an escape from the bustle of the common areas. Normally he would've enjoyed seeing the hotel this busy but these circumstances had far darker motives. "Yeah, kind of," he laughed awkwardly while running a thumb down his jaw. "It's the closest place that's felt like home since I was a kid." After their mother died, the boys never lived anywhere that felt full. In fact, it wasn't until he'd met Mavis and been introduced to her world that Myles' considered his heart full again. "Thank you, I appreciate it but I don't think I'd be able to leave, especially not right now. My family needs me here," the boy said giving her a small smile, knowing she'd understand the weight behind those words.
