In-ho must know what he’s thinking because he closes his eyes, and slow, thick tears stream out the corners and roll down into his ears. "Please,” he mumbles. “Kill me.”

And, oh, how badly does Gi-hun wish that he had it in him to honor that request.

But he can’t do it. Even though he knows what In-ho has done, and what he is capable of, he can’t get past the fact that it’s Young-il’s face. The same man that has allowed 456 players to fight to their deaths every year is somehow the same man that showed him how to love and be happy again. He lets go of his neck and sits back, letting In-ho catch his breath.

“You don’t deserve anything that you want.” he whispers before standing up, trying hard to retain his balance. Before he can talk himself out of it, he turns around and walks straight out of the door.

In-ho can't help but spy on Gi-hun after he lets him go. He makes it a habit to watch him once a week at the same bar. But when he slips up, and Gi-hun sees him, he's forced to bring Young-il back to life. Chaos ensues.
