YES we were saying this back during covid about tiktok. the most prominent tiktokers who stated this rumor did so simply because their viewership fell off, which they falsely correlated to tiktok tightening its censorship (something something sinophobia), instead of just their content falling off with their viewers. a few people back then spotted it for what it was (a rumor that led to people preemptively self censoring) and have been trying to convince everyone else, but it took off anyway. youtube censors more than tiktok, but still not as insanely as some people think. most yt censorship happens because of copyright claims and not cuss words.
