As this occurs, Mercury is closing in on a conjunction to Saturn, which goes exact on the 27th. Mercury will effectively trigger into more conscious awareness some of the Saturn-Uranus trine themes.

It can be valuable to compartmentalize insight about systemic, historical problems as data to inspire curiosity for how things might be different. Check your reactiveness. While there is a place for direct action meant to stop injustice (such as frontline, body protesting the construction of a pipeline), the forces of justice need not always be on the defensive. We do as well, need minds to innovate solutions which can become institutionalized. Institution and authority isn’t the enemy – it is a neutral archetype capable of building shelter and prison alike, but an archetype that contains gravity, longevity, and the potential to be of consequence. How can we work with gravity to construct a better world? For those who feel a strong connection to their moral compass, it is time to be smart about the long haul. We may be thinking about impact across space and time, or our capacity to step into a heightened version of self who might midwife this impact into reality.

Though I stress not being reactive, still I would consider what issues trigger a sense of urgency for you. This urgency is timely enough. If the urgency motivates a person to quest, or to action, they may find after a few years of sustained effort that they have accomplished something that seems like the fruits of a decade or more of labor.

Read the biographies/autobiographies of people who have succeeded in the fields relevant to you (or who possess knowledge that transfers to your field, or possess knowledge that for whatever reason inspires you). Their stories are holograms which can be transposed onto your own endeavors.

Consider what structures, containers, disciplines or parameters might support your path. People like to hate on Saturn, but Saturn forges and we may as well participate in choosing what we are fortifying. Conditioning ourselves say through self-study, or self-led commitment to an exercise routine, or by joining a class that helps us commit, adds rings of structure onto our energetic field, like a tree gaining tree rings. Energetic upgrades are often born from sweat and labor. Saturn relates to what we earn. Combined with Uranus though, we discover smarter and cleaner ways to earn – we aren’t bound to trudge in the same ways people (ourselves included) have long been trudging. We have new technologies on every layer – emotional, physical, biological, spiritual, etc. we have superfoods, energy specialists, tantra, spirit guides, lucid dreams, acupuncture, crystals, manifestation techniques, etc – a whole pantheon of epic technology. Many of us live in communities with specialist healers who have a specific gift they are bringing into the world. There is so much abundance here to structurally change reality and receive otherworldly boosts to do so. Have big ambitions/dreams and find your high-tech help. The more expansive the vision, the greater chances it has to alter your work and self-care routines alike.

Astrology of 5/24 - 5/30: New Moon in Gemini & Clever Visions - Sabrina Monarch

A recurring theme of the week and our New Moon in Gemini is how we harmonize cleverness and heart; rather than developing one without the other.

This New Moon in 4 degrees Gemini is sextile Vesta (temple goddess asteroid) in Leo. This suggests that there is an optional harmony between the intellect and the heart. I say optional because of the nature of the sextile aspect, as well as how cleverness is not necessarily motivated by heart, and some people feel this divide strongly. As an archetype, Gemini receives a lot of criticism for deceit, two-facedness, and manipulation. While not all people with strong Gemini or Mercury signatures reflect that trait, when people do it is often caused by having a highly developed agile mind/intellect without as much developed heart or sense of ethic.

The harmony between heart and cleverness is optional because those who play games and cheat the system by having the type of intellect to be able to do so may still be rewarded in some sense. However there will be a sense of something missing, some kind of missing satisfaction or feeling of purpose and true connection with others. When Leo/heart energy, on the other hand, is too “noble” to be clever or play games, this extreme can lead to self-sacrifice in which a person’s scruples truly hold them back.

This New Moon reflects an opportunity to harmonize these forces. Are we being clever to actualize our creative potentials? And if not, why? Where do you go too far in terms of being “noble” at detriment and where does your ability to get what you want/manipulate situations leave you feeling empty or even dissociative?

In situations of diplomacy, for example, a person may adjust what nobility means by adopting signatures of respect that come from another culture or sub-culture. Being able to speak your heart is another example of harmony between Gemini and Leo. Open-hearted agility is a path. This is how our lunar month starts: see if there is a way in which the ever-shifting and opportunistic agility of your mind (cleverness) and the fixed, steady loyalty of your heart (Leo/Solar field) can cooperate.”

I have a love for writing that cuts to the essence of something that I have felt but not heard explained before. I think about the hours I spent reading things on the internet about astrology or depth psychology and poetry and feeling like I wasn't alone, feeling so entirely electrified by the validation of perspective. It's like Marina Abromovic in her book (Walk Through Walls) where early in life she had dreams more vivid than life, as her soul knew something more than the current moment expressed. When I would read things that expressed a truth I had never heard articulated I would feel like my soul was on fire, the book I was reading would glow. When words deconstruct reality there is some kind of ruin in it. It can actually be "devastating" (can you see that as a blurb at the top of a book?) but it's something so alchemical and I am grateful for it. When text or any other form of art or creation has an aura, it has joined signified and signifier in a way that is like going to church. How can art ever be called frivolous when it can touch and bring to life parts of soul which have not yet emerged? I thought of Marina Abromovic a lot for this Sun-Pluto transit. She spent so much time in her words "devouring" everything that inspired her. In high school I wanted more from life, I didn't connect with the reality I had available to me except mostly my imagination, I had intense dreams and was bored. I discovered Dostoevsky and other authors I would become obsessed with, I would read until my eyes and whole body hurt. I didn't know what else to do. There were many bizarre ways I spent my time in high school, knowing I might trade it in for something else - that realistically I didn't want to live with aching bones forever but I had to read thousands and thousands of pages of text until I knew.

This text spurred all of this because it is so honest in its dissection. Dissecting reality sets us free. We are free to create too, and sometimes we need to know *exactly* what it is we are letting go.

I don’t know if it’s the astrology of the moment with Saturn and Uranus trining or also just the astrology of my chart (my Saturn and Uranus are in mutual reception) but a lot of what I currently think about in a day are the holograms of social conditioning and the ways that we can invent new holograms, and switch between holograms at any time. I have fun just thinking and learning about it and then making discoveries based on the practice of it.

I had an experience recently where i was learning about the concept of infinite self-worth from Bentinho Massaro’s work, and he also had a teaching about never be in the vibration of waiting: that instead of waiting, one can just do something that is planting a seed for the future. So I found myself waiting in line for a print job at Office Depot, and I was like, oh this is a moment not to wait! And instead of being bored, I was suddenly really excited. So I focused on planting my feet on the ground and meditating on infinite self-worth. When I got to the front, what I had printed out came out to $30 and I was surprised because I thought it would be around 7 or 8. I reacted to it out loud without thinking and then felt kind of bad about myself for a second, like I was complaining. Then the guy behind me asked me, “Would you like it to cost less?” “Yeah!” I said, and he took out a coupon on his phone, mumbled something I couldn’t quite decipher about “executive benefits”, and then my price came down to 6 dollars. I thanked him, paid, and thanked him again. When I was walking away, and already half way across the store, he yelled out across the expanse, “WORK HARD!”

I then paused where I was at, and smiled at him, and in that moment, time and space may as well have collapsed. It was the threshold of social conditioning and magic/phenomenal reality which is becoming more and more accessible to everyone as more people talk about it. Did he want me to work hard so that I earned or deserved that coupon? Is that the social conditioning? Is reality really so set in stone that magical things can’t happen and you have to follow a specific prescribed track of actions in which you suffer and toil and are at the end of your long suffering, rewarded with grace? Or can you hack it, plant your feet into the ground, and think about infinite self-worth, infinite abundance and love of the entire planet and insta-manifest a coupon & bizarre transitional experience?

So in the memory at least, I think about this multi-faceted diamond of every possible meaning of his “WORK HARD!”; was it meant as gentle encouragement, a nod of recognition in the land of Office Depot, etc. etc. and I do not know the answer; but he throws the diamond up with his “WORK HARD!” and it shatters on the floor, sending shards of iridescent crystal all over the scene.
