Magic simply is. To restrict its domain as a strictly religious, strictly scientific, or strictly psychological one is doing it a disservice as a cultural fact. Its domain is essentially practical.
Svartkonstböcker: a Compendium of the Swedish Black Art Book Tradition (Dr. Thomas K Johnson)
Dunno if anybody will see this but this person made a how to guide on how to make this at home (this guide is from 2 yrs ago btw)
A handy spreadsheet to work out the dimension of the parts to cut
so this happened to me today
fucked up some bird tried to steal your car like that
He’s not stealing, he’s robin
(Clasping your shoulder gently)
You’re right. And he looks like a real tit doing it too
Maaaaybe this is a hot take and not a good idea in practice
But i would really love a thriving witchcraft community heavily modeled after scientific and critical thinking. Much like sass witchcraft on reddit, which is a community of atheist witches who do not believe in magic, but a community that welcomes both magic believers/deity believers and atheists/non magic believers. I would like a community where these two sides can find common ground on healthy spiritual practices, debunking harmful spiritual ideologies, as well as discussing the deeper questions about our practices. Im tired of every witch community being filled with only beginners where every single post is the same niave questions: "does seeing this animal mean its a sign?" "Does having a cold mean im hexed?" Ect.
I want a community filled with lively philosophical and deep discussions, with no basic posts allowed lol.
Maybe this would be impossible, hard to manage, and too restrictive. But i like the idea.
Its isolating to feel like the black sheep in the community for black sheep.
I'm gonna plug a few blogs I think you'd like.

I know there's more, I just cant think of their URLs. These are the #grownasswitches of Tumblr.
OP, I've got just the place for you.
@criticalthinkingwitches
We started as a SASS witch group and gradually expanded into a small community of people who value science, critical thinking, and common sense as a core part of a magical practice. We host online gatherings for workshops and presentations every so often, plus an annual CritWitchCon in September.
There's a Discord as well and healthy respectful discussion, even discourse, is encouraged. Mostly we just chat about what we're up to, what we're curious about, and what we're working on. And a LOT of our members are here on tumblr too!
