🌹The Rose of Versailles🌹

It was the first manga that I've ever read when I was a child. I didn't even knew what a manga was at that time.

I started a painting of Oscar a few months before getting diagnosed with cancer in 2019 and I haven't touched it since because I just don't have the energy of doing digital paintings anymore. So two years ago I started an inked piece based on my previous idea and managed to finish it for the release date of the movie in Japan. Oh, it was stuck on my long work in progress list for such a long time !

I'm happy to have finished this one because I like the character so much and in times likes these she's a huge inspiration. Freedom, equality and democracy for all human beings 💖

Howl's Moving Castle 💖🏰✨️

This was hard... haha 🙃 Doing a colorful work takes so much of my energy and that's also one of the reasons why I don't do it much. I tried my best to give it a warm and magical atmosphere. At first, I wanted something simple with flat colors and I ended up with the opposite, adding painting strokes instead. I would like to create something with a more restricive palette and refrain myself from going overboard in the future. That will be a challenge. 🫠

Anyway I like this movie a lot and wanted to give a proper tribute ! Ghibli movies are so peaceful and inspiring ! ✨️💖

Happy New Year !

And a belated christmas theme post. 🙈✨️As I previously said, I love the nutcracker story and aesthetic and started to imagine an illustration based around those three nutcracker soldiers, each with their own personality and style. A bit like the three musketeers but in the Land of Sweets. ☺️

I really enjoyed working on this drawing, apart from the colouring, which was difficult. It's been such a long time since I did a colour illustration, but I'm glad I managed to finish it ! 😅 Also Tchaikovsky's music was with me every step of the way. I've listened to the whole suite over and over again so many times I can't count them ! Hehe 💖

✨️ The Star Catcher ✨️

This is a remake of an illustration I did in 2013 that was called "Up in the Sky". It took me nearly two years to create it. I left it aside several times to work on other things. 😬 I had an idea in my mind you see, but it was difficult to bring it to life. I took the opportunity to experiment a bit and added some painterly shades of grey.

My style evolved of course but the essence was already there in a way ? Contrasting and detailed linearts were my thing at the time and they still are Hehe ✨️
