recently i’ve been obsessed w the idea of stratt giving ava foods to try, stuff she hasn’t seen since before the quiet rapture.

mainly fruits and vegetables and stuff. shes shocked by the amount of fruit and vegetables people have, she doesn’t remember them being this readily available, but she goes to the farmers markets and there’s stores full of them. she likes oranges.

food personal to stratt, traditional german food. stratt’s worried she might not like it, but it turns to concern that ava might throw up from how fast she’s eating, but she doesnt care if she makes herself sick

actual meat, not vaguely meat flavoured rations. she actually likes some meat, she just cannot deal with anything that has too much blood/juice/fat in it

she’d eventually introduce her to the actually good alcohol they have on earth. mandatory mention that she likes bloodymarys. get it. bc it’s the ship name. i’m so creative and unique

also caffeine. stratt lets her have some of her coffee to try. she has not had caffeine in like 20-30 years. she stays up all night. eventually she gets used to it and tries some energy drinks.

Lowkey wanted to show off my Paras(?) vs their official designs (pink haired character belongs to @nanab1rd1e) but one of them is supposed to look uncanny, one of them is supposed to be older than they look and has a bum ass hairstyle, and the other one…I don’t know—something just doesn’t feel right there. I’m lowkey ass when it comes to replicating characters into games like this 🥀

Also I swear to you they look darker in real life, my camera just makes them look lighter 😭

I bought Paralives and I like giving people my opinion when it was never asked for nor needed—so I’m gonna do that

Despite it being early access, I love how in depth the build mode and para maker is. It’s absolutely ludicrous how I can’t make myself as a 4’11 dude in other life sims because I’ve never seen a height slider in a life sim UNTIL NOW. The ability to stretch items out instead of snapping them together and not relying on the grid system to place things down is really nice too—the inclusion of disability aids and menstrual care products is also really nice even if they don’t have any mechanics behind them (for now). The art style is really cute, there are some things about it I’m trying to get used to, but other than that I adore it. I’ve always really liked the 2.5D style

But since it’s in early access there are some things that are missing or leave more to be desired. I’m mainly disappointed about the hairstyle and facial hair options. There aren’t a lot of options for people with curly hair—ESPECIALLY people with curly, short hair. I couldn’t really make a character with an Afro whose hair doesn’t go past his shoulders nor could I really make a character who has 3c or 4a hair that doesn’t go back his shoulders either. The absence of different sideburns, muttonchops, and more vintage facial hair options like a walrus mustache were deafening—BUT AGAIN, ITS STILL IN EARLY ACCESS AND CAN ADD ANYTHING AT ANY TIME IN THE FUTURE

I was kind of disappointed about not being able to make my character bind (as far as I know), make them use canes to get around, make them nonverbal, give them a lazy eye, ETC—I at least know the devs are planning on making mobility aids useable so I’m pretty excited for that

But even for all that’s missing in the game, shits still WAY better than the Sims on launch or, god forbid, Inzoi (sorry for the stray). I’d rather play Paralives than a fully modded sims with every pack downloaded. I feel like that guy who hasn’t seen the Knicks win a championship since he was five seeing Paralives do what Sims wouldn’t and more. I truly have so much hope for Paralives to grow into something amazing since it’s already off to a good start, especially for the leaps and bounds it’s made past a multi-billion dollar company as an indie company
