Where are you, gay creators in animation? Are gay males/relationships mostly a live-action thing? I’m so tired of seeing gay males/gay relationships in animation be a wink, a one off thing, a short clip, or just implied....

Watching #TheHalfOfIt was a total emotional ride, my brain was brainstorming for ideas hours and days after! This piece is inspired by the random quote slides appearing in the film, sprinkled with easter eggs here and there 😜 But srsly, can we talk about this film!? 😫😫😫 I was so into an Asian sister playing lead, and an LGBTQ one at that as well! But I was apprehensive about watching it before because I was having sad end vibes (as LGBTQ films usually do) What I ended up was still stinging, but nonetheless better than the usual... I loved Ellie and Paul's friendship, it reminded me of my highschool days. I want to believe I had that too, my own Paul Munsky back then, (but with a more pinch of Ellie's pinning for Aster)... How I wish I treated that friendship more differently. 😩 Nevertheless, it was, and still is, my most CHERISHED school moments, like how this film is one of my cherished this year and beyond.
