Inga here, letting you guys know I was away for a while due to health. I don't think I'll be returning to role-play anymore, though. I can't say it really gives me the drive anymore, nor do I see the charm. Anyways, see you all later~

My grade 4 teacher took my desk away because I would draw on it. I was to sit on the floor for months as my punishment. (Deserved or not, to an 8 year old this was really embarrassing.) My grade 7 teacher went into my desk to go through my folder of (admittedly angsty) art without my permission, then went to my mother. Because of her I was forced to see the school psychiatrist regularly. My grade 8 teacher told me art could never be a career and that I would end up without any worth, working somewhere trashy for my whole life. My grade 9 teacher ripped up my entire art folder because I was drawing in class, after bawling in front of everyone she then chased me into the washroom to lecture me while I hid to cry in a stall. My grade 10 teacher didn’t believe I had painted something by myself, she told me it was plagiarism and gave me zero. When it was in fact 100% mine. This is just few of many.
Thirteen years have passed and I am ashamed to admit that any of this still affects me. These instances for which I am sure are insignificant to any of you shook my confidence, sucked the passion out of my only escape, and made me feel as if my hobby was wrong, worthless, and should be hidden; and for that I will never forgive them.

i have this tick where my hands have to be constantly moving or i get really uncomfortable (it’s also why i do origami) so sometimes i’d doodle in my notebook and i can look at any old doodle and tell you what i was learning when i was drawing it becuase that’s how i concentrated
Reason why I don’t creative write as much as I used to anymore.
Had to do a diary piece from a character from Of Mice and Men.
100% mine, 100% emotional
Teacher
Teacher said it was plagiarism.
Told me to write something completely unrelated - didn’t match up to what I had written.
No because you didn’t make me write an emotional piece.
I hate you for ripping my skills out like that you piece of shit.
I draw a lot in class. Always have, always will, like one of the above posts, if I don’t have my hands moving and doing SOMETHING, I get anxiety because I don’t know what to do with myself. Fifth grade, I had a teacher snatch the notebook I was drawing in directly off of my desk and legit throw it across the room into an open closet and threatened to call my parents for apparent insubordination (I didn’t even know what the fuck that was at the time, but it wasn’t good if she was going to call my parents for it). I had no idea what I’d done wrong! Sixth grade, I got told constantly to not draw in class by at least three teachers (namely English, Spanish, and science), and then they got angry with me for not paying attention when I simply couldn’t. Eigth grade, my own goddamn ART TEACHER shunned me for how I did work. She made fun of students for sketching (you know, those sketchy, scratchy lines we draw out when figuring out the form of something) a preliminary portion of a project. She made fun of the art style I drew in. She failed multiple of my projects because it “wasn’t creative enough,” which was bullshit because what she gave me was always the hardest thing for me to come up with anything for. She gave me shit whenever I was having a hard time in any specific form (especially clay). She basically made me not want to draw anymore and caused me to shy away from art classes in public school. Not to mention I got teased and bullied for it by a good majority of the students at the school as well. High school, I soon learned, was much better, but just by way of the teachers. I still caught hell from other students, though I was improving and many were starting to see talent or whatever those dumb fucks were deciding made it not worth it to make fun of me anymore. Now in my senior year in high school, I finally went back to taking art classes, even though this is my last opportunity. I regret not taking them earlier. But my point is this: IF YOU ENJOY YOUR ART, KEEP MAKING IT. If some little shitlick teacher or one of your peers wants to give you hell, let them. And then to piss them off, DRAW SOMETHING INSPIRED BY THEIR BULLSHIT. Don’t let anyone tell you that you’ll go nowhere doing what you enjoy, because if you truly enjoy it, you’ll find a way to make it work. No matter what it is.
When I was in Kindergarten, I was told that I was stupid by my classmates because I liked to read chapter books and that I was insane to want to even read.
When I was in third grade, my teacher yelled at me because I kept writing a poem when she told me to stop and put my work away. When I kept writing it, she took it from my hands and ripped it up in front of the class, throwing it into the garbage and watching me to make sure I never went to get it back.
When I was in fifth grade, I was caught with my new camera in school. I had been taking a picture of the school and they took the camera from my hands and refused to give it back until they erased the memory and never gave a valid reason why.
When I was in eighth grade, my teacher broke my pencil in two because she thought I was writing a note to my friend, and when she read it and realized it was a note about my parents and all the horrible things in my life and something so personal I had to write it down because I couldn’t understand it just in my head, she kept reading it aloud to the whole class.
Teachers may be mentors, friends may be role models, but not all of them are good.
When I was in third grade my art teacher made me rip up and throw away a project I’d been working on for 3 weeks because it wasn’t good enough.
I spent 3 weeks on a realism portrait I was doing for GCSE extra credit (I was 1 of 2 students to do this) and she came to assess my work just a lesson before it was due and scolded me on my ‘manga style’ and said I should try and mature my art. This was the most realistic piece I had ever worked on (and I had used models in magazines as reference) and it was a subject on parents evening. I failed the project and decided I didn’t want to take art for a GCSE after all and now I hate my art style because I can’t help but feel it’s too childish and I need to mature it.

Hey everyone. I’m about to tell you all a really personal story, and then, I could use your help.
The blonde in the pictures above is my little sister, Rachel. She’s 14, a freshman in high school. She’s one of the smartest kids you’ll ever meet, to be honest. Smarter than me. She’s got an amazing sense of humor and the most gorgeous smile, the sort of person who just lights up a room with laughter after being in it for five minutes. Even though I’m 19 and I should be the tough one, she’s held me when I cried, and she cooks me dinner when I’m too lazy to do it, and she gives me confidence when I don’t believe in myself. We cosplay together, we fangirl together, and we talk Tumblr-speak at the dinner table. It’s not an exaggeration when I tell you this girl is my entire world. I’d do anything for her, and I love her more than words could fully describe.
On Friday, she was admitted to a psychiatric hospital after a year of battling severe depression and anxiety.
She thinks she’s ugly. She thinks her future doesn’t matter. She often hates herself, and can’t see all the amazing things everyone else knows is obvious just from their first glance at her.
The red tie on my wrist you see in the third picture was from her. Behavioral hospitals don’t allow anything with strings on them, so after she pulled out the tie for her sweatshirt, she wrapped it around my wrist for me to wear until she gets back. It might only be for a weekend, or it might be for longer. I don’t know yet.
Here’s where I’m asking for your help. At the earliest, Rachel is coming home on Sunday, but it’ll probably be longer. Still, that means I might only have two days to get the message out. I want to show her when she comes home that there are people out there who believe in her. Who think she’s beautiful and worth fighting for, worth recovery.
So please, reblog this and prove to her that she has more support than she ever realized. I’m hoping it’ll give her some confidence than she can get better.
Dear followers, please spread the love! The girl who posted this is incredibly sweet and super cool. Please help her and her sister out
Spread the love people!
My sister was there for me, and she dealt with / is dealing with some issues as well, so I will definitely reblog this for sisters who rock. <3 <3
Don’t you just hate nights like that, when you think over every mistake you’ve made, every hurt you’ve received, every bit of meanness you’ve dealt out? There’s no profit in it, no point to it, and you need sleep.
