Moon Halo Clan will be a Clangen comic that is a combination of me being bored at work and being inspired by several other clangen comics!

There isn't a plot, but I'll sprinkle in plenty of headcanons and plot-adjasent moments, and those adorable tiny little personal stories you always get playing Clangen!

I don't want to take it moon-by-moon and instead split moons into several updates and stories and sketches.

One day a young medicine cat gets called by the stars to follow the glowing moon to new, safer lands. She and her mate form a new clan, Moon Halo Clan, taking anyone willing and faithful with them on their journey~

About me: Nona (she/her), artist, warrior fan of 17 years(in fandom , not total btw)!I draw almost everything, and, not gonna lie, cats are my weak spot but i hope drawing them again and again will help me learn to be more comfortable with their anatomy! English isn't my first language, but honestly i don't bother too much with it - sorry for any mistakes i make, but also i won't stress too much about polishing everything i say lol

I have no clue how to do things but I'll learn as i go i guess!

Current family tree(s) of the clan, with some carry-ons from their previous home.

The clan is basically built around the FogBurnet family at the moment. Fogstar himself is the only son of Silkenstar, the previous leader seen in prologue. Fogstripe was trained to lead from a young age, as Silkenstar's pride didn't let him consider any different bloodline for the leadership position. The two never shared any close bond whatsoever.

Silkenstar's disregard of Burnetreed stands from the fact that her father was a kittypet , thus making Burn a halfclan kit. He was hesitant to even let Willowspot (her mom) and her kits to stay in clan, let alone be respected. Despite everything, Burnetreed eventually found her way to the healer's den and not only took away part of Silkenstar's clan, but also the heart of his only son~

Both Rivershadow and Serpentwatcher were named after Fogstar's mom Shadewatcher, who was kind and supportive to both Fog and Burnet. Though i assume it's quite awkward, considering that Serpentwatcher looks surprisingly similar to her grandfather (even taking after him with her Grumpy personality, too)

See that black tabby? That is the cat seen in prologue, Ravencall, Midnightpaw's mom. Sadly, she passed away protecting her other kit Duskpaw, and both of them now serve as starclan guides for the Moon Halo Clan.

And now, i think, we have enough info to finally start doing moons!

serpentwatcher looks a LOT like silkenstar, are we sure the kits have the parentage she’s saying?

Yup! She's actually Silkenstar's granddaughter on her father's side! Unfortunately for Burn and Fog, both Serpentwatcher and Rivershadow look a LOT like their grandfather and nothing like their mom's side.

Quite ironic, especially with Serpent also taking after Silkenstar's grumpy personality as well

Actually, i think I'll do a quick family tree for the clan hold on a sec!

Moon Halo allegiances (2/2)

Younger part of the clan

Cicadascratch is one of the cats from the original clan, who was fed up with the previous leadership. Despite being Cunning by the game's description, she's just so mean all the time?? The brat of the clan, love her so much. She doesn't get along with most cats, but she's loyal and hard working and is actually happy to be here (even if she doesn't want to admit it)

Mintbellow is a stray who the clan picked up on their way to the new territories, so despite being a clan founder he's one of the newest additions to it so far. He is soft, great at avoiding conflict but also isn't that great at other warrior duties like hunting or fighting. Will he remain a warrior? Time would tell, i guess!

The youngest cat and the only apprentice - Midnightpaw (mentored by Dovetooth). Charming and friendly, she was basically raised by the whole clan and Fogstar in particular. You might have noticed her mom in prologue pages, but i do hope to elaborate on their story one day when i get a fitting prompt for it~

If you were wondering - this is how my art process looks! Every page starts out as a rough sketch on an a6 sketchbook

I was just sketching them at work on lazy days, but now I'll have to do the hard part - to put them into digital. I may take a pause after moon 1 is all posted to re-post some of the other clangens and oc comics that inspired me!

Our current clan cast. There's a bit of a timeskip, but don't you worry - the past will re emerge again!

Fogstar and Burnetreed, the two clan leaders. With Fogstar's calm nature and ability to lead cats and with Burnet's close connection to stars the two have been doing a great job ever since they arrived at the new territories. Headcanon based on his interactions so far - Fog seems to be great with kits and younger cats! I imagine him being the best dad/mentor for anyone who needs him

Rivershadow (the small potat in the prologue!) and his younger sister Serpentwatcher, kits of Fog and Burnet. Both born at the turbulent early moons at the new place, they turned out to be quite different from eachother. Currently River is the deputy, the position previously occupied by Dovetooth, who later stepped down to make way for younger (and star chosen) cats. Despite their differences they have a very close bond

Dovetooth used to be the deputy before she decided she's too old for that. Not quite ready to retire, as the clan needs all the help it can get, but too old for any major roles, Dove is instead mentoring young Midnightpaw and generally helping younger cats by sharing her experience. In the old clan used to be Burnetreed's biggest supporter! I always imagine her to be the funny aunt type of character, friendly, caring and a bit silly ~
