Little kids are hilarious. They have no sense of relativity in reality. I was babysitting the other day and asked this kid out of curiosity how old he thought I was (I'm 15) and he goes "ummmm, 50?" And I was like "not quite" and then this kid goes "60?!"

Questioning Life/ Happiness

I’ve been thinking a lot about humans and why we do the things that we do. I love art and I always wonder what it brings to the world and what the actual point is. We have become so self aware that it brings consequences. I have been stuck constantly questioning what I’m doing and what the real meaning of everything is. 

I have come to a pretty common conclusion. The meaning of everything is to be happy. A fulfilling life is all we can really do for ourselves. I have been taking steps to persue this idea and live.

Everytime I work on a piece of art, however, I can’t help but wonder, what does this do for anybody in the long run? How does art fit into the universe? It is, afterall, not a necessity. I have mentally grouped the arts together as entertainment. When I discuss art and am talking about visual arts, music, writing or any form of creative expression. Making or consuming art doesn’t make one healthier, it doesn’t help the human race survive in any way so how can it fundimentally shape a society?

Going back to what I mentioned earlier. All we can do for ourselves is live a happy, fulfilling life. I believe entertainment is an important puzzle piece. The arts may not help us live but it is the joy that comes from these creative endeavors is a piece to why we live. That is why culture exists.
