(Audio Sauce)
This is genius! I love this Tumblr convoy, but I love even more how you managed to match each character to each sentence, like wow even the characters gesturing for numbers match the audio!
Made a little crack video of bokupre with random videos I found on the internet so enjoy. Might make another one in the future.
ćDancingāStarććŖćć„ć¢ć The Stage3 (x)
Dancing star Precure once again strikes with one of the most heartfelt lines I have heard in a while.
I read a post by this japanese twitter account that made a very interesting point:
while Kouga presents himself as a traditional, very macho kinda guy, Sasana is the complete opposite.
Kouga acts very manly most of the time, sometimes being over the top. Despite this, his Cure form is the only one with long hair and the dance he specializes in is the Kagura dance. This dance is mostly done by japanese priestressess, so women.
On the other hand, Sasana is presented as a very sensual, feminine type of man. His preferred type of dance is the Soul Dance, which like he explained:
This can also be seen as him hoping for everyone to be accepted, because he himself is different than the standard of masculinity. At the same time, this isn't presented in an over the top, stereotypical way.
I really like this writing choice, wether it was intentional or not. Usually the more sensitive, feminine guy is presented in very stereotypical ways in media. Meanwhile the macho dude with jerk personality is presented as desirable, sometimes even romanticizing his toxic behaviour.
See the nice thing about bokupre is the fact that it breaks this mold. Kouga is just a high schooler and his idea of what a man is supposed to be like is clearly swayed by the many pressures society puts on young men.
At the same time, that doesen't mean he is a total jerk with no redeeming qualities. He's still just a kid after all, but the show never tries to excuse his flaws, it just presents them as part of him. And with those it also presents his best attributes.
He clearly cares about his juniors, although he struggles to show it. He also trusts Sasana a lot, never looking down on him or thinking he wouldn't be able to keep up in the fight with Desparade just because he doesen't fit in the traditional "strong man" mold.
These two traits are clearly shown when Kouga tells Pado that they don't need other cures to help them fight since they would just get hurt clearly stating that he and Sasana are enough to fight the bad guys.
It's also interesting to notice how when in Cure form, their roles kinda switch. Kouga is a lot more worried about making sure no one gets hurt, protecting his juniors, even trying to fight the evil dancers alone in order to push Gaku away to safety. He still does it in his own very harsh way, but clearly the safety of the civilians is his main priority.
Sasana also does care about it, but at the same time he showcases a very different personality when Kouga gets hurt. He stops with the theatrics and bubbly personality and becomes an extremely skilled and scary fighter.
He is so strong that he is able to defeat all the evil dancers on his own, even when Kouga, Hayato and Gaku all struggled against them.
I mean just look at his face here, homeboy was about to throw hands.
Other things the twitter creator pointed out was the fact that Sasana is a very feminine name in Japan and also the fact that his surname "Tsukimiya" comes from the word "tsuki" which means moon and which is usually given to female characters as it showcases care and sensibility.
Sorry for the long post, I just really wanted to express my love for the masterful writing of what are usually two character archetypes that I don't really like, because of how stereotypicallu they are usually portrayed.
Let me know if you like these kinds of analysis, so that I might make more in the future. Maybe about the rest of the cast.
Day 11 of posting Bokupre until the 3rd stageplay comes out
In celebration of @grandesteartherquakedreamer 's birthday, I asked them to request any scene they wanted me to post and they chose the one where Kouga and Sasana transform in the second stageplay.
Everyone please congratulate them in the comments!
Day 13 of posting Bokupre until the 3rd stageplay comes out
Let's end this series with one of the most iconic and classic of precure scenes: the first group transformation and roll call.

Not to like Start Something but if youāre presenting yourself as a translator and using MTL to translate brand new content and putting it in the main tags when there are a solid chunk of translators who will almost definitely do it if you give them time is kinda. Man.
I mean I GUESS good on you for being upfront about it being MTL but like. If youāre gonna keep these for your own archival purposes or whatever - which this person originally said and then deleted for some reason - putting them in the main tags and away from that context is notā¦.greatā¦
