tumblr’s algorithm only cares about posts that are reblogged, it doesn’t count likes. posts don’t get promoted or circulated when they only have likes (the way instagram functions), only reblogs matter for increasing reach on tumblr as a platform.

but yeah, tumblr’s system definitely doesn’t advantage non-popular artists, but there’s a big problem from within the community too. i have over 400 followers and i consider myself lucky when more than 2 people reblog my art, so imagine how much worse it is for people with even less followers.

reblog content creators, guys. liking posts doesn’t do anything.

Sorry to break it to you but they’re all right. Tumblr isn’t Instagram. Likes don’t get us anywhere. Everybody’s “drop a heart and keep scrolling” mentality has murdered all of my original content sideblogs. Each and every one of them.

This is my latest fic.

17 of those reblogs are when I reblogged it.

Which means only 19 other blogs reblogged it.

And granted, this last week or so I’ve been gaining more followers and I am incredibly thankful for them. But there’s a slight problem when you have -at the time of the fic being posted - at least 2,300 followers and only 19 others reblog it…this becomes an issue.

If you want to help support your local content making blog, please reblog. It’s what gets our stuff circulating around the Tumblr world.

If you’re like me, I like to read fics first because…well that’s the whole point, it’s to read. You can literally save the piece as a draft so that you can go back and read it, and then reblog it, or queue it up so it reblogs at a later time.

And this isn’t just for fic writers. The gif makers, the artists, we love, they suffer from the lack of reblogs to.

So reblog, give some love to the creators who don’t get an instant 1,000 likes and reblogs in less than 15 mins of being posted cause we know they’re not struggling to get their stuff out there, and maybe if you really wanna make them burst with feels, throw in a comment or go at it in the tags. I know i love seeing what people have to say about a fic in the tags.

Young Black boy killed during Protests by White Supremacist!!!

Black Protester Shot to Death Outside Omaha Bar

A young black protester was shot dead outside a bar in Omaha as unrest across the nation engulfed the Nebraska city, by white supremacist Jake Gardner.

The victim was identified as 22-year-old James Scurlock, whose father called for justice as the city braced for another night of chaos.

“Last night I lost a son, my wife lost a son, my kids lost a brother,” the grieving dad, who has the same name, told reporters at the Malcolm X Memorial Foundation Visitors Center, “His daughter lost a father. All because he decided to protest against racism.“

Unfortunetly, Prosecutors in Omaha, Nebraska, said Monday that the white bar owner will not face charges because in their minds “video evidence shows he acted in self defense” even though he had aimed the gun to a crowd of unarmed protesters and James only got involved to protect anyone form getting shot, resulting in losing his life, as both videos here show: video1/video2

The murderer, Jake Gardner, also owns 2 bars one of which was closed down because of an outpour of reviews stating they woulf often refuse service to black people and were known as violent racists. His other bar seems to be having the same issues.

anyway ik some ppl will go on twidder and say army tumblr is gone and we should reevaluate our priorities but i think this is an important conversation to be had and i’m glad we’re discussing it. while there are bigger issues at hand i believe we can def multitask and care about more than one thing esp since in the end they tie in together with what black lives matter stand for

they could have contracted at that club and spread it to other people after. people have a right to be mad like some have lost loved ones

im pretty sure they got tested after going out based off the information i’ve been seeing, so that’s likely not the case. especially since they’re high-profile idols under major companies. i’m pretty sure their companies are all on top of their health so that they can keep working and keep promoting during this time. not to mention that they would come in contact with all their other members as well (jungkook - 6 other members, mingyu - 12 other members, jaehyun - 8 other members [considering ONLY NCT127], eunwoo - 5 other members) and that isn’t even considering staff members, stylists, managers, bodyguards etc. so if they did contract it when they were out, they would’ve known. their companies would’ve known. hell, i’m pretty sure the general public would’ve known they contracted it when they went out to the restaurant and bar, aka they weren’t at the club.

im not saying people aren’t allowed to be upset, because well yeah. but if they went out during that window of time where there were no confirmed cases and no strict guidelines being implemented, then are they really at complete fault here? like, i understand that it’s a global pandemic right now. im not dumb. theyre not dumb. as high-profile idols, they should’ve been taking extra precautions at the mere mention of the disease. im not sympathizing with them and coddling them trying to say they’re perfect and did no wrong whatsoever. but this was a week before things got serious. people were still saying it wasn’t serious. especially when there were zero confirmed cases. a week before my state went on lockdown, everyone was still living life normally. there was talk about covid, but everything was still open. i was still working in a crowded mall on the weekend before strict guidelines were implemented. people were still going out like normal JUST like they did. then confirmed cases happened and things shut down JUST like their situation. so to be mad at people for living life normally a week before the big announcements and laws came forth seems to be really dumb???? the man in itaewon that went to the club and tested positive for it was a week after they went. and again, should they have gone out? probably not. but they were still allowed to. they were allowed to live their life normally just like you and just like me before the outbreak, which is what makes this very confusing. especially when the proof dispatch (who is always reaching for a scandal, especially for bts) is providing is a grainy picture that doesn’t resemble the person they’re referencing.

do i think it’s a bit annoying that people are on their asses for going out (not even to the exact club) A WEEK before the outbreak when there were not strict guidelines/lockdowns to abide to, especially when they were all tested negative and therefore couldn’t have passed onto anybody else? a little before it’s not like they could’ve predicted this happening.

do i think they should’ve been more mindful about going out considering status and job in the conditions? yes, but tbh it’s not like i can stop them from hanging out with their friends just like anyone else.

however,

what people should be mad about in regards to this situation should be that dispatch decided to name drop high-profile idols the exact moment the creator of the nth room was shown to the public. people should be putting their focus on the fact that dispatch is trying to divert attention from this case because they know that kpop fans will lose their mind over something small over this.

Yes they could have been better off not going to Itaewon but that was before the outbreak. You can’t blame them for being themselves and wanting to be with friends. They’re all okay which should be more important. God why is Kpop fandoms so hypocritical sometimes 🤦🏻‍♀️. Also why is dispatch so fucking dumb and sneaky like wtf y’all think this is. Like we don’t know the seungri trial is supposed to be going on. Take you’re anger in this situation and put it towards the real motherfucker that should be hated on. SEUNGRI. And make light of the fact that these beautiful talented young men are alright for fucks sake. Get a bong, a beer, or a cigarette, and chill out goddamn it.

He was playing the new tomb raider game that had recently shown up on the market, it was a gift from Taehyung, and it was a gift you hated so much at this moment. You had to admit that playing video games is something you enjoy as well, but never to the extent that it was your only focus in the world. You never starved to complete it in one day no matter the game. Often times you and Jung would play together like any of the ‘Call of duty’ games when you would play against each other and then end up play fighting over who was the rightful winner or the alluded cheater of sorts.
