The sun is about to set, which means duties and responsibilities are about to subside too. The sunlight bathing the forest created an ethereal glow over the greenery. The soft breeze whispering sweet nothings to your skin as if to soothe you to sleep already. But at home, your own sunshine, your own source of light and happiness, is waiting for you and Neteyam to get home.
You force your lithe figure to make it to the entrance of your home, growing tired from the fatigue that washed over you. These hunts have been frequent, mainly because the RDA has been paying the forest an often visit, ready to harbor the unobtanium treasure it holds—fortunately Navi attacks are seldom, targeting only land resources.
As you open the flap of your intricately woven home, you see three little pairs of eyes widen as they sense your presence. “Mama! ” Ke’ya shouted while approaching you with her open arms, ready to embrace her dear mother. You smiled at the sight of your youngest, beaming at your arrival. You bent down to meet her gaze. “Awhhhh, hello, Ma’yawne, you missed me? ” you say as you let your palms meet her chubby cheeks. “We did, Mama! Superrrrr! ” Your middle, Eytu, wrapping his arms around your neck to hug you from behind, as if sneaking to an obvious surprise.
The three of you laughed together, letting Eytu go to sit in front of you. You stare at them for a while with such a loving gaze, but another pair caught your attention. Your eldest, X’aila, was staring with concern plastered across her little face. “What’s wrong, baby? ” you said as you offered your hand towards her, opening a new space for her to cuddle in. X’aila approached cautiously, almost as if she was afraid she’d wake something up if she dared move wrong. Her gaze trailed all over your body, scanning for open cuts and bruises and finally landing on one just right below your eyes—one you earned from harvesting fruits in the forest filled with hard and spiky branches.
“Did it hurt? ” she said, coming off as almost a whisper. Your confused expression immediately shifted into an affectionate one. Your eldest has always been protective, not just of both you and Neteyam, but also of her siblings—a nature she most definitely got from her father. You let out a chuckle, almost breathy, and took her little hands to place them on your cheek to cup them. “Baby, you don’t have to worry about Mommy, okay? These are just temporary scars from when Mommy needs to hunt and take down the bad guys. Mommy is very strong! ” you say fiercely in a playful way, lifting your other arm up to show off your muscles. You finally saw your eldest smile, even laughing at their own enjoyment.
“Do I hear laughter? ” You turned your head to see your husband has returned from the meeting his father held for all the warriors. Your children got up quickly to greet their father excitedly. “Daddy! ” They all say in unison. “Kalt’xì, my itetsyìp,” he says as he bends down to carry his youngest, despite holding all of his equipment at the same time. He kissed the temples of each of your children as they all jump up and down waiting for their turns.
“Do I have to jump to earn my kiss too? ” You smirked playfully as you leaned against the side of your home. Neteyam immediately took your presence in and put Ke’ya down. You felt his calloused yet soft hands around your waist pulling you into a chaste kiss. You reciprocated the kiss almost instantly as you melted into each other. His touch was warm, hours of training evident in it. He was your sense of comfort alongside your children—he was your person.
“Ewwww, Mommy and Daddy are kissing! ” Eytu shrieked in disgust, attempting to cover his and his sister’s eyes at the sight. You broke away from the kiss and chuckled at your children. “Oh yeah? Well, you’re going to have to get used to it! ” Neteyam says as he playfully warns and chases them around your shared home until they reach the other side of it with a woven cloth separating the rooms.
You laugh at the amusement, obviously enjoying yourself. Times like this are definitely your favorite part of the day. Despite heavy duties and trainings raining over you most of the day, the sight of your husband and children immediately lifts the weight from your shoulders—making everything so worth it.
You started to make your way towards the kitchen to prepare your meals for dinner when Neteyam suddenly made an appearance, walking out of the other room. Your ears perked up sensing his presence from behind, and your tail swayed swiftly as if inviting him. Neteyam, as observant as he is, noticed that and took action.
His hands snake up from behind, hugging your waist to press himself against you. “I missed you so much, baby.” That one pet name he often calls you never fails to rev up something in you. “You did? ” you questioned as you pushed your head back to lay on his shoulders with your eyes closed. “Mhmm,” he hummed, feeling his throat vibrate against you in such a needy manner. He bent down to kiss your exposed shoulder, neck, and all the way to your chin, expressing his longing for you. You fought every sound that has been begging to be let out ever since he laid his touch on you, thinking that your kids might hear and see you in such an intimate and inappropriate sight.
“Neteyam…” His name came off so quietly—breathy, rather—almost like a moan. “Baby, our kids…they’re in the other…room. They might see us! ” Neteyam ignored your protest as he tightened his hold on you, making you feel him from behind. Kisses turned into bites, and bites turned into sucking. Your knees are almost giving out to this pure ecstasy your husband is giving you.
He quickly turned you around and crashed his lip onto yours, needing every part of you. You gasped at his sudden action but gave in instantly. You let your hands travel his body from the edge of his jaw to his muscular chest. He smirked against your lips, deepening the kiss, leaving almost no air for the both of you. You moaned silently, enough for only the both of you to hear it. Your hands moved everywhere from his chest moving down…down…down.
Both of you broke apart from the kiss, gasping for air, allowing the sweet oxygen to fill your lungs. Neteyam chuckled in his husky voice, almost meant to tease you in some way. “Getting bold, huh? He mentally pointed at your daring move. “Just teasing, that’s all,” you smirked, meeting his towering gaze over you.
You tiptoed for your lips to meet the forehead of your tall husband, kissing it and the side of his lips. Meanwhile, your husband returned the favor, kissing your nose, your cheeks, and eventually your lips, still clearly glazed from the previous activity. You snickered at this as you tilted your head in a playful way, fidgeting with the beads in his hair, framing his beautiful face.
“This will continue later…yes? ” you whispered in a seductive manner, leaning in. “I’ll be the one to initiate the act, baby.” He grinned boldly, almost closing the gap between you two when you suddenly hear bickering from behind.
“Eytu! They’re doing it again! ”Ke’ya made her presence known by telling on her brother. You chuckled as Neteyam brought his head down in defeat at this mischievousness of his children to rest on your chest.
Laughter was all that filled your shared home—in spite of warfare circling your clan, it was never welcomed nor invited in your home. These children may be born into war, but as parents, it was your duty to protect them and shield them from every harm—eager to end this ongoing battle for the sake of your children’s future and freedom.
