"L-luna?" Remus chews his lip some feeling exceptionally nervous.
Luna looked up from her book, and smiled sweetly. “Yes, Remus?”
Remus swallowed thickly a moment. “I.. um. I’m sorry.” he nearly whispers as he fidgets just a little.
Luna put her book down and stood up, taking hold of his hands. “Remus, what is it? What’s wrong?”
Confusion washed over his face, did she not know? “I.. was gone for a few weeks… or am I imaging things? I left with no word, I.. thought” his brows furrow and he grips her hands firmly a moment. “Am I going mad, Luna?” he whispers, fear now lurking in his eyes.
“I know you were gone darling.” She nodded, holding onto his hands. “I thought it was something to do with the wolf and that you would tell me when you came back to me. I always knew you would come back, Remus. I…I would have known if you hadn’t.” She slowly moved closer, wrapping her arms around his waist and resting her head on his chest. “I missed you, I’ve missed you so much and yes I worried…but I knew in my heart I would see you again.“
Remus holds her close against him, feeling a wave of relief wash over him. “I don’t deserve you, my moon.” he whispers softly. She was so understanding, so patient with him.
“Of course you do. Why would you think you don’t?” She peeked up at him curiously, cuddling against him. He was warm and she’d missed being in his arms. “…You don’t have to tell me, but…I would like to ask where you’ve been.” She whispered softly.
“Around… mostly hiding out in the woods.” he admits. “I’ve got a little cottage I run too when things get… overwhelming.” he held her close, having been longing for simple contact like this.
She sighed and just curled into him. “Do you wanna go up to the RoR and cuddle? We can just relax and talk if you like?”
"I would absolutely love that." Remus smiled warmly, not wanting to part from her for quite some time. He had missed her far more than he let on.
