sirius naturally being more energetic, outgoing, confident, but when the pressure is too much he grounds himself with "his moony" the big tall warm steady boyfriend that occupies his couch and his bed and his heart
Sirius said the full sentence in a rush, avoiding James's eyes as he did so. The relief that flooded him when he finished the words was instant, but fear still pumped through his veins as he worried over his best friend's reaction.
But James just stared at him. "I...okay?"
Sirius blinked, heart hammering faster. "I....I'm gay," he said again, wondering if James'd heard him properly.
"Alright. And?" the taller boy prompted, confusion on his bespectacled face.
He snorted in annoyance. "D'you, like...know what that means?"
"Yeah, you like dick! What's your point?" James asked bluntly, shaking his head a little.
Sirius gaped. "My point is...is that! I'm gay!"
"And I'm a Gryffindor! Are we just saying facts about ourselves that are obvious?" James asked incredulously, a little grin on his face as he raised his hands in a shrug.
But now Sirius was utterly taken aback. "You...you knew?"
James chuckled. "Mate, you're not exactly what I'd call subtle. You and Moony are all over each other all the time, flirting something disgusting! I mean, I assume that's why you're telling me, right? You two've finally gotten your shit together and shagged proper?"
"I–what? No! Prongs, I finally just realized yesterday that I like Moony at all! You–you're saying he–we–flirt? What?" Sirius gasped, his whole world flipping on its head once again.
And the boy in front of him broke into a giant smile, like Christmas had come early. "Oh, Padfoot. Padfoot, Padfoot, Padfoot. We have so much to discuss."
