“Ready?” Sirius asked when Remus opened the door. Remus had to force his brain to work as it had frozen at the sight of Sirius stuffed into the tightest leather trousers he’d ever seen, his powerful thighs stretching the material almost to the point of tearing and don’t get him started on the way Sirius’s black shirt clung to every muscle of his torso and arms. He swore that one sneeze and Sirius would be naked before him. Yes, he’d checked for an underwear line as Sirius skipped down the stairs ahead of him.
James and Peter were waiting downstairs for them, and together they set off to the bar to meet the girls.
“Get this down ya!” James grinned, pushing a vivid blue drink into Remus’s hand. He had no idea what it was, but it didn’t taste like alcohol when he took a tiny sip.
“What’s in this?” he asked, not wanting to mess with his medication.
“Vodka, I think, or gin—something clear and then something blue.”
“Don’t forget the umbrella!” Peter laughed loudly, already halfway down his own blue concoction.
“It’s called Witch’s Brew, good luck!” The girl Sirius had introduced, as Marlene told him, as she swished her floaty dress skirt and delicately sipped her drink through a straw.
“Do you know how much alcohol is in this?” Remus asked Marlene. “I have to be careful how much alcohol I consume for my meds.”
“Oh, shit, yeah, that is not for you!” Marlene said, eyes widening in horror as she snatched the drink from Remus’s hands and shoved it back into James’s.
The barman nodded and came over.
“No alcohol or some?” he asked.
“Er, some, just a little bit, please. I’m not sure how much was in the other one, but by the way Marlene reacted, I’d guess lethal.”
“Good guess,” Aberforth grinned from under his grey beard. He got to work making Remus’s drink, which looked exactly the same as the previous one, but he knew it had significantly less alcohol in it. He took a small sip and could literally not taste the difference.
“Thank you,” he told the barman and moved to where the others were standing.
“Honestly, I don’t know how his clothes stretch so far without tearing. It’s a miracle he’s not been arrested for indecent exposure!” Lily snorted as they watched Sirius dancing in the middle of the bar. Remus agreed with Lily as Sirius dipped to the floor, his leather trousers hanging on for dear life as he pushed his arse out and his thighs tensed.
“Seriously, how the fuck does he look so good?” Marlene harrumphed. “I’m gay, and even I’m a little bit in love with him.”
"I think we all are,” Lily added, tilting her head in sync with Marlene as Sirius sank to the floor again.
“So, er, thanks for inviting me,” he said to James, tearing his eyes away from Sirius before he did something stupid.
“Huh?” James said, blinking hard. He’d been mesmerised by Sirius too. “Oh, yeah,” James grinned at him, giving him his full attention. “Like I said, you’re part of the family now, so you had to come.”
“Well, thank you anyway. I don’t get asked out much, well, apart from by Lily. She makes sure I go out at least once a month.”
James looked over at Lily and grinned a huge, dopey grin.
“She's amazing, isn’t she? Oi, Evans! Wanna dance?” he asked, holding out his hand.
“Sorry,” Lily purred. “I’m already taken.” She grabbed Peter and whisked him out onto the dance floor.
“Ooo, brunette, twelve o’clock. See ya!” Marlene grinned, waggling her eyebrows and scooting off before James could ask her, which left Remus.
“Care to dance?” James asked, hopefully.
“Oh, go on then,” Remus laughed and took his hand.
