@mooochelle
I think it has been like a year since I've tumbled. Hi. I still exist!
Nothing tastes as good as this feels
Two things have happened this summer that I previously believed to be incredibly unlikely/borderline impossible:
1) I worked hard and got myself to a level of physical fitness where I can run 2 miles without stopping. To those of you who are naturally athletic, I know that seems like small potatoes. For me, it's a BIG DEAL, ok. Next stop: 5ks.
2) I worked hard and put my first collection of poems together and sent it out into the world, and I actually found a home for it. My first book is being published! It was a finalist for The Hudson Prize at Black Lawrence Press. I am still pinching myself over this news.
Nothing makes you realize the full extent of your self-doubt like actually doing what you thought you couldn't do. I find myself wanting to spout cliched inspirational messages all the time now. I will just leave you with this important Feeny message:
It is with great pride that we unveil Charlotte Strick’s design for a revamped Flannery O'Connor stamp—now to get the USPS on board!
She reflects on the design and O’Connor’s legacy here.
Obsessed.
All men benefit from women’s reinforced fear of being hurt for saying no.
read it again and again
Understand that this applies even to non-sexual situations. Women are more likely to be asked for favors from coworkers. Regular “can you file this for me” / “can you cover my shift” / “can you finish up this paperwork” workplace favors. Men are less likely to return those favors. Women are more likely to be seen as “difficult to work with” if they refuse to do favors when requested. Being viewed as ungenerous has negative social and professional consequences.
So yes, even gay men benefit. All men benefit from women’s reinforced fear of being hurt, not just physically, but also socially and professionally, for saying no to anything at all.

I have worked as an EA in an office for a year now, and I can tell you from experience that this shit is true as hell.
typical nbc hannibal script
will: i am a dark metaphor seething into the deep core of my own Ass i want to smell the screams of all the people who have ever wronged my delicate mind
hannibal played by mads mikkelsen who is wearing 12 plaid suits at once and looks like he just dunked his head in a bucket of crisco: and how does that make you feel

some things
-I am getting married very soon. -I finally sculpted my manuscript into a thing I am kind of happy with, and I am sending it out into the small-press universe as often as I can. It's good to let go of it. -I have trouble with anxiety and depression. It's been particularly up and down the past few months. I'm finally attempting to write about it, and I'm trying to work my way through it as it comes. Some days are really hard, and some days are really great. I've read a few posts on my dashboard by people feeling sad and alone lately. I know it isn't easy. If you are feeling very bad, just know this: you are not alone. I want to be ok; I want you to be ok. I know you can get through it. -My dog burps loudly after every meal she eats. It makes me feel certain that we are kindred spirits, fated to spend our evenings cuddling on the couch together, expelling gas in an un-ladylike manner. -Yesterday, I looked out the window and saw a biker peeing in the alley.
