I had the honor of collaborating with David the Lightbringer to help bring several cultures from the world of George R. R. Martin to life.

These are members of the Zoqora, a people from the far eastern steppes of Essos who were the first to construct war chariots in the world of A Song of Ice and Fire.

We imagined their society as placing great symbolic importance on the spoked wheel, reflecting both their mastery of chariot warfare and the influence of the Sintashta culture that inspired parts of their design. Their garments are woven from prized spider silk, making textiles as important to status as metalwork.

Her hair captured the light of the Trees of Valinor and were so beautiful, that Fëanor asked her for oneand she refused, which made him create the Silmarils.

Later; in third age, she was asked again for a single hair by Gimli and she gave him three.
