i think my favourite headcanon that came out of tkc discord up to date is that anubis spent those 5000 years in isolation reading and typing up fic on ao3 (archive of our osiris). he singlehandedly is the reason Corkscrew Head/Hesat was in the top ten thirty two years in a row

Dr. Julius Kane himself could never play any musical instruments(I don't think it was ever mentioned in the books). But, Carter mentions in the very first chapter of the 1st book how his father would always drag him to see jazz concerts. My headcanon is that those places reminded Julius of his younger brother, who he was forbidden to see. That is the reason behind why a world renowned egyptologist, whose favourite musician was Elvis,(that man couldn't have been a jazz fanatic) would be adamant on going (and dragging his son along)to a jazz concert.

Am I the only one who thinks that Rick should have made Anubis look more like Thanatos instead of Nico? Like that would logically make more sense and it would stop people from drawing a literal Egyptian God as whitest dude on Earth.

One thing I never understood about the pjo universe and fandom is why people insist that Anubis/Sadie or Calypso/Leo are sooo problematic, because of an age/maturity gap.

Although in the book, they are written as being, mentally, the same age, due to being imortal and aging differently. People usually disregard this, just generaly arguing that it makes no sense, when it even is acknowledged

From my perspective, this it is comparable to, when in pjo, it's said that "it is okay to date people from other cabins, because 'the gods don't have dna", this is also impossible, but does work within the books fantasy setting, but differently from before, no one in the fandom has a problem with this.

The "slow aging" aspect of it all does work, because it works within the books fantasy logic. It is stated in the book that these characters age differently, and so they do.

Honestly, feel totally free to disagree, I don't want so sound like I'm taking myself too seriously

Also, I feel like this sort of stuff just happens because sometimes people enjoy feeling like they're just wayyy better people than everyone else and calling others things like discusting and "problematic" over stuff like this

part of why i am so nitpicky about Nico being emo vs goth is Anubis is described as looking extremely similar to Nico (and the fandom likes to push that visual similarity more), except he's goth. Goth Nico in the series is just Anubis. We have to have a distinction between the two. Also Nico deserves to be recognized as the lame teenager that he is with generic 2010s emo music and fashion taste. Anubis is supposed to be the hot one. Nico is canonically constantly a mess and just mildly off-putting and awkward. Only like two people find Nico attractive and that's Will and for some reason, Jason. To everyone else he's cute and/or angelic at best but usually just creepy. Anubis is the one who is just canonically hot to the point of making people stop and gasp, and also is goth and a furry, which is fun.
