AIRPORT IS CLOSED AGAIN!?!?!
Mt Ruang has erupted again, and now Denpasar airport has closed! ...I actually cannot believe this, I was one of the lucky few who was able to escape from Bali and make back safely to Australia. Now, there will be a new lot of people who will go through the same life threatening problems that I endured. Ok, maybe it wasn't that bad, but still. I predict that many people will rekindle the chaos that all started about two weeks ago. All of hell is going to break loose at Denpasar airport. I suggest you don't go there. Unless you enjoy listening to angry, annoyed people. Now that I am safe and cosy in Australia, I can update about the new wave of people who have been left to fend for themselves as their flights were cancelled. I do not believe my luck. I have been blessed by the volcano gods to be flown far far away from the holiday ruining Mt Ruang. HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!
HOME SWEET HOME
Finally, I am across the water, and out of reach from the volcano. Man, I hated it.... By the way some guy working in Sydney airport yelled at us for no good reason. He's probably jealous that I was stuck in Bali with no way out, and he had to work the airport. Ha. Karma got that guy.
Hoping that there is no news of the volcano. I am so close now....now that I have become acquainted with the floor, we are good friends. #nochairshere
Day 10 of extended holiday-The Final Hours
Today, finally, is my last day in Bali. I cannot wait to get home. But I will have to due to lots of queuing in the airport. Today is the day. The day that I will be free from Bali, and free from the evil volcano. I hope that it doesn't erupt, because that would be no good for me, since I have to go home. If it were to erupt, I may scream. If you are in Bali, you will probably hear it. But then again, screaming is always my last resort. My first is probably looking angry. The count down is on, and my bags are packed. I hope the volcano doesn't erupt again because my bags are all packed and unpacking them again would just be a hassle. But I pray to the volcano gods that it won't erupt. Time to go....I hope.
Day 9 of extended holiday
One more day, until I can finally fly home. If the volcano erupts again, I might have to bury myself alive. But of course, that is just extreme measures. And I don’t what good it would be.
Finally, I won’t have to fight for dear life, like a lone wolf in a dark forest. At least I didn't have to build a boat or swim in the shark, sting ray, and jellyfish infested waters, just to get home. I'm not that silly. Or am I? No, I'm not. I don't think.
Soon I will be home, with people who have Australian accents. I have been stuck here for so long that I have forgotten what they sound like. For all i know I may have an Indonesia accent. But probably not.
Just one day….and I will be free.
I CANNOT WAIT!!
Did you know the volcanos in the pacific are called the ring of fire??
Day 8 of extended holiday
Today, was silence. But mostly because I was tired and wanted to sleep. I wanted to sleep because I have been so busy trying to get out of this lonely island, struggling to survive. Ok maybe that’s not why I was tired but still it could be true.
I can no longer see many Australians here. They were lucky enough to escape from this oasis that has become a tourist trap. No, really. Many tourists here now are European. I know this because they look like Australians, but when I walk past them I can't understand what they are saying. They might be German. I learned German in grade 7....I wasn't very good.
But that is beside the point. Soon not only will I most likely be doomed to be stuck in Bali forever, but so will the Germans. And that is not good.
I heard that the volcano has erupted again today, but whether that information is true or not... I can't be sure. I hope its not true, because I don't enjoy being stuck.
TWO. MORE. DAYS.
Then maybe I will be home. Stupid volcano.
Pretty amazing view at the top of Mount Batur #Bali #love #nature #paradise #volcano #cloud
Make sure the volcano doesn't erupt while you're there!! We cant be stuck in Bali for longer!!
Swimming home could be an option....
People are rebelling, and graffiti is everywhere. It may or may not be because of the volcano.
Day 7 of extended holiday
Those of us who are left here, still trying to get home, are starting to rebel. And I mean rebel. The evidence is clear, as you can’t walk down any street or lane way without seeing some form of graffiti on the walls. I say the graffiti is from those of us stranded on this deserted island, but others would probably speculate that it has been there for years. But do details really matter here? No.
Still many people are swarming around. There are many holidays going on, as well as my extended one.
Apparently, another volcano has erupted in east Indonesia. Isn't that splendid? Now there are two volcanoes erupting. I am beginning to think that i will be trapped here forever. I don't find that to be fun. Some people are missing out on school and work. Because of the thousands of australians stuck here, I predict that the Australian economy will fall, since less people are there working, and less kids are going to school. I can already see a change over here from the dollar dropping. We should be carful, or soon we may have an economic depression. However, sources tell me that it is unlikely.
Much less than a week to go. I hope I will be able to escape the dreaded volcano. Or else...I could die. But probs not. Get me outta here!!!!!
EVERYONE IS STUCK!!
Day 6 of extended holiday
Today was madness. There were people everywhere I looked. Possibly because of the many holiday makers that are now coming in since the airport has opened, or possibly because I was at Waterbom. But that's beside the point. What I'm saying is, people are coming and going, but I am still stuck here. Left to fend for myself in this foreign location. Only 4 days left, until I can escape this chaos that has become my reality. Hopefully the volcano won't erupt again before then, or I may be stuck for another week. Or more. And that would be bad. Volcano, don't you realise I have a life back home??
That pesky volcano #Bali #birdseyeview
Tell me about it!
The chaos is finally being fixed! ...sort of.
This is what the sky looked like earlier. Is it cloud? Or is it ash? We will never know.
