This has been on my mind constantly. It’s so wonderful and I’ve looked at it at least 20 times. I tend to store things in my drafts until I’m ready to give them proper attention since I don’t always have energy the very moment I see them. But the expressions, the style, and the subject is just so awesome.

I actually showed my partner as soon as I saw it!! If you’re comfortable I’d be really happy to feature it in some of my fem modern oneshots…. It would delight me so…

Ember is a 5 year old girl who was born cursed. Her hair is made of fire and so is her heart. Her powers made her a somewhat difficult child, not because she was disobedient, but because she had trouble controlling them. At the age of 4 she burnt down her family’s home after her powers began to act up and she couldn’t figure out how to stop it. Her parents decided they finally had enough and brought her deep into the woods where they abandoned her. She wandered around for months, miraculously finding food left around, convenient places to rest, and a feeling someone was watching her. The stress begins to get to her and her powers become erratic. The smoke catches the attention of 5 of our protagonists as they set out to try to find her.
