So, if anyone remembers, I'm, like, writing a fanfic, and I have a couple of OCs in the works. If anyone cares, they're all purely secondary. But I like them, so I decided to show them all to you — God willing, someone will be interested 🥲
And yes, on the original platform where I post my work, there will be 2 "books", but on AO3 it will all be in one, so you can think of it as a time division. Don't pay attention to the numbers next to them, except where it says book one, because I changed the time frame a bit.
This is probably the most frequently appearing OC. Caramel got unlucky in life, and her egg was planted a little incorrectly, so she turned out to be very strong. And that's it. That's literally the only thing she can even slightly be proud of, because she can't do anything else. You could say she's even somewhat disabled, since she can't sing, dance, or do anything useful :/ She's terribly clumsy and she's very sad about all this crap. But at least she tries.
Of all the characters, she more or less kept her original design from the very first concept. In book one, she's softer and more easygoing, but in book two she's more serious and confident in herself — yet still just as kind at heart 😊 I've drawn her before, so I'll just show her artwork.
Without straying too far from Caramel, this is her older sister, Ulcer. The name pretty much speaks for itself.
The sisters' relationship had been strained since childhood. While Caramel tries to cling to her sister because she has no one else besides her, Ulcer dreams of shaking off her annoying sister. They lost their parents early (their family weren't villagers), so as a child, Ulcer had to drag along her sister — whom she already hated by that point, mostly because of their parents. But of course, by the end of the story she'll come to understand something — though it will probably be too late.
As for her herself, she's quite self-sufficient and independent, but very obnoxious. A Karen in the world of trolls. She works (or used to work) for the twins.
Her concept changed quite a bit, but on the inside she's still the same. And yes, she's curly-haired. You can't see it on the reference because I didn't want to bother that much :P
So, Strawberry is a child. I have a reference drawn only for the first book, but there is also one sketch for the second, but I probably won't show that one.
Strawberry is literally the embodiment of the word innocence — probably, out of all the OCs, she's the luckiest one in the story. But, spoiling the plot, her first appearance in the fanfic is a scene where she watches her mother die :/ yeah, she's still the happiest among my OCs.
So, one of my friend's favorite characters, but she doesn't like redheads, so she still talks shit about him. Anyway, for context, my fanfic has, like, a religion, and Thekla is kind of a preacher in that regard. In terms of personality, he's similar to Creek, but more sincere, you know?
I can't say anything else about him, because, you know, I just can't. The only thing I'll say is — I don't envy this guy.
This is my favorite OC. No, that doesn't mean he's lucky in the plot — honestly, I feel even more sorry for him — but he's still a total bastard.
So, Onion here is a classic troll, and he's probably had the most extensive concept evolution. At first he was just a regular pop troll, then a shortstack, and only later did he become a classic troll. His personality has also changed a bit over time, but that hasn't made me love him any less. Anyway, he's an extremely envious and nasty little devil who'll do anything to make your life miserable. Surprisingly, he's also relatively lucky — if you can call his fate lucky. Spoiler: yet another future disabled character 🥳 poor guy.
Unfortunately, Dinky only appears in the story briefly, but her contribution is probably the most important in the entire fanfic, because you could say a revolution will happen because of her 🥲
She's a rock troll and spends almost all her time in her shared cafe with DJ Suki. Personality-wise, she's quite sweet — not without flaws, of course, but forgivable. And since stories about her fate are a massive spoiler, I think I'll stop here.
This is Caramel's closest friend and also the second lieutenant. His hair is just insanely strong. He's a rock troll, but by nature more of a joker. I won't go on about him either 🧚♀️
I'll end this list, I suppose, with the goddess herself — Melody. She is literally the embodiment of sound, death, and giver all in one. At first glance, she might seem very wise and perceptive, but don't be fooled — she genuinely couldn't care less about the trolls, and sometimes she's driven solely by anger and resentment. Why resentment — that's a separate topic; maybe I'll tell it sometime later if the story gets to that point, but for now, that's it :)
Actually, I have three more characters, but they're still very far off in the fanfic, so I decided not to bother and didn't draw them (I'm lazy, remember). Funny fact that might be a spoiler? For those who care: 6 out of my 10 OCs will die 🥰🥰 I really love my children, I know.
