People keep saying Project Hail Mary isn't Best Picture worthy. I'm a huge enjoyer of smaller, more intimate arthouse fare, but damn if Project Hail Mary isn't one of the best examples of Hollywood film magic in years. I don't know if it'll be the best thing I'll see all year, but honoring its achievement with a nomination would in no way be another F1 or Top Gun: Maverick situation.

grace throws something at him. it bounces harmlessly off rocky's hamster ball. "hate crimes! grace do hate crime!" rocky manages to chirp out through laughter so intense his legs buckle a bit

Taking a break from my usual Warframe blogging for this one - it's about BBC's Waterloo Road and it's kinda personal too.

Lois' episodes were also directed by a trans woman director who I've had the honour of meeting when I worked in TV, she's a lovely woman.

Unfortunately because we have a terf problem on this stupid island, they've been review bombing the episodes. Despite the fact that as OP says, this trans character is just a normal lass, and I think they handled it well (for once!)

Arthur learning from the cubed spaghetti incident and instead making normal spaghetti but with bite sized, cubed meatballs. This turns out to be an instant hit for the Drifter because they can pick up the cubes then slurp up the noodles -- like one does with chopsticks.

He can meet the Drifter where they are, but still make good food.
